RAT Appeal ? Nancy Dennis
The Racing Appeals Tribunal (RAT) heard an objection last
Thursday from disqualified trainer Ms Nancy Dennis.
Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) Stewards had previously
disqualified Ms Dennis for a period of nine months, on two separate occasions,
for breaching HRV Rule 190 (1) & (2), for presenting Hawaiian Wave to race
at Stawell on 24 June and at the Warrnambool @ Terang meeting on 27 June 2004,
with an elevated TCO2 level in excess of 36.0 mmol/L.?
Ms Dennis lodged an appeal against the severity of the
penalty imposed by the Stewards. The tribunal allowed Ms Dennis? appeal and
varied the penalties to an $8,000 fine.
RAT Appeal ? Martin Herbert
The RAT reserved its decision regarding the appeal by Mr
Herbert on the severity of penalty imposed by Harness Racing Victoria (HRV)
Stewards on 28 July, 2004 for two breaches of Rule 190(1) & (2) in that he
presented Antigua Bay at Cranbourne on 7 February and Bally Hooley at
Maryborough on 5 May 2004, with the prohibited substance propantheline in their
system.
The Tribunal will hand down its decision in this matter once
it has considered all submissions made on behalf of the relevant parties.
