Leap To Fame - 2026 Miracle Mile Presentation

LEAP To Fame is already poised to break another huge record.

The seven-year-old’s powerhouse $1 million Miracle Mile win has given him the lead in a quest for an unprecedented fourth Australian Grand Circuit crown.

He already has four Australian Horse of the Year titles.

Leap To Fame currently shares the record of three Grand Circuit titles with two greats of the past in Gammalite (1982-84), Westburn Grant (1990-92) and King Of Swing (2020-22).

After two of the seven legs this year, Leap To Fame (160 points) leads his arch-rival and older half-brother Swayzee (140) points.

Neither will go to the third leg, the $300,000 Group 1 Fremantle Cup on April 24, but they look set to meet again in leg four – the $1 million Brisbane Inter Dominion pacing final on July 18.

Every race is precious now with Leap To Fame, who could be retired to stud after this year’s Inter Dominion.

For all his amazing wins, this latest Miracle Mile, his second in the race, was the most amazing and significant.

Facing the best field of his career and in a race with such monstrous build-up, Leap To Fame again endured the hardest run and still won.

To sit outside the leader and beat a field of such depth and quality underlined his greatness and showed why many say he’s the best Australasian pacing of all time.

“He’s simply amazing,” trainer-driver Grant Dixon said. “It’s just so rewarding to be a part of this horse. He’s a freak. And he just keeps doing it for us.”

Leap To Fame’s win was his 66th from just 85 starts and took his already Australasian prize money record to $5,883,234.

He has won 15 Group 1 races, just one behind Australasian record holders Lazarus and Westburn Grant.

He’s now won two Miracle Miles, two Inter Dominions, a Hunter Cup, a Blacks A Fake and been to NZ for mega wins in the Race by betcha at Cambridge and Group 1 NZ Free-For-All.

For a horse most, including Dixon, say isn’t ideally suited to sprint racing, Leap To Fame has contested three Miracle Miles for two wins and a close second.

He now heads back to NZ to try and successfully defend his Race by betcha title at Cambridge on April 10.
