Shepparton – Tuesday, 24 February 2026

Race 1:

OVERVIEW: BYRNESIDE BOOM (10) was a winner here last week when able to lead from a favourable draw and prove too strong second-up. He goes to the backrow draw now which is no luxury and will need the right tempo, but his form is hard to ignore.
MADAM REACTOR (4) hasn’t been racing that well, but is open to improvement in a suitable race where she may be able to cross to the top over the short trip. IAMAWINGATE (9) is always thereabouts in these types of races and gets an economical trip punching through from the backrow draw. WITCHITA KANSAS (11) is another off the backrow who will need the tempo to work in his favour but brings better credentials than much of the opposition.

SELECTIONS: BYRNESIDE BOOM (10), MADAM REACTOR (4), IAMAWINGATE (9), WITCHITA KANSAS (11)

Race 2:

OVERVIEW: THE LADYBIRD (8) was a winner here three runs ago and found the line quite well from an awkward draw last week. She potentially maps behind the leader here and if that pattern eventuates will be hard to hold out late.
YELLA (6) put in a sound performance for the new stable last week, and with natural improvement and a bit of luck can go close. CLIVES GIRL (9) resumed for a 4th last week and gets the soft punch-through off the back row here in what isn’t an overly strong race. THE ACCIDENTAL ONE (1) has been given a few chances in the market lately but has early gate speed to race handy.

SELECTIONS: THE LADYBIRD (8), YELLA (6), CLIVES GIRL (9), THE ACCIDENTAL ONE (1)

Race 3:

OVERVIEW: HOME AND DRY (5) has been good his past few from awkward set-ups and returns to the front row over the short trip. He has options to map well with speed to his outside and gets a top driver aboard.
OLLY ODD POTTS (2) put in its best run for some time here last week, was good to the line from well back and a repeat would go close. TUPELO BEACH (8) looks well placed on ratings and despite drawing awkwardly is open to improvement. FAVOURITEHIGHLIGHT (6) was a winner here last week but now is drawn a little awkwardly if she’s to win in succession.

BACK: HOME AND DRY (5) – 2 units (win)

SELECTIONS: HOME AND DRY (5), OLLY ODD POTTS (2), TUPELO BEACH (8), FAVEOURITEHIGHLIGHT (6)

Race 4:

OVERVIEW: KATUNGA EXPRESS (8) is drawn behind a sharp beginner here to potentially map well over the short trip. His form prior was very good, and with a solid tempo likely can be strong late if he gets the breaks.
GOOD TOBE LOCKSLEY (9) broke through for a deserved win last time after being thereabouts and can sweep home strongly if they overcook things. CHIRRIPO (4) was a good run last week back to a more suitable race and returns to the front row to race handier. SOHO PLAYGIRL (1) runs the gate well and her best credentials are over the mile journey but does need to lift on recent outings.

SELECTIONS: KATUNGA EXPRESS (8), GOOD TOBE LOCKSLEY (9), CHIRRIPO (4), SOHO PLAYGIRL (1)

Race 5:

OVERVIEW: LORIMERMAJOR (9) was a winner in very good time three runs back at Maryborough and maps to not be too far from the leaders here. There looks to be a few who will want to run the gate so the tempo may be solid for him to be strong late.
HEZ HARRYWHO (2) didn’t get things to his liking last week when shuffled back, and a more positive drive can see him improve. ILLAWONG PHOENIX (4) is a consistent type who normally likes to race on speed, it’s just hard to be confident about how the map pans out. KING SAINT (8) is second-up here and despite the awkward draw has the quality to be in the finish with luck.

BACK: LORIMERMAJOR (9) – 1 unit (win)

SELECTIONS: LORIMERMAJOR (9), HEZ HARRYWHO (2), ILLAWONG PHOENIX (4), KING SAINT (8)

Race 6:

OVERVIEW: AUSSIE JAY MAC (10) was very good here last week resuming off a solid trial, winning comfortably and delivering on earlier promise. He goes to the front row, however the map isn’t certain from wide. Despite that, his run last time was too good to ignore to go again.
SHEZAGLAMOURGIRL (8) is first-up from three solid performances last time in. She’s trialled ok and gets a soft draw to map handy. HURRICANE HOOLY (1) can show good speed from the inside and broke its maiden status last time out and can be in the finish again. HEZAFLASHONE (2) has speed but also can map to get an easy trail and is racing well enough to figure.

BACK: AUSSIE JAY MAC (7) – 3 units (win)

SELECTIONS: AUSSIE JAY MAC (10), SHEZAGLAMOURGIRL (8), HURRICANE HOOLY (1), HEZAFLASHONE (2)

Race 7:

OVERVIEW: MIDNITE MUSCLE (7) gets no favours with the barrier draw here, but his win here two back was good in a race that perhaps had more depth than this. If he can get the luck and right map, he’s hard to hold out again.
GUNSEN ROSIE (2) has been consistent without winning her past couple and the favourable draw is advantageous. MAORI TATTOO (8) hasn’t been threatening to win, but strikes an easy race and soft draw to improve. ATTRACTED (6) was better last time out; would want to see her do that again to mark genuine improvement.

SELECTIONS: MIDNITE MUSCLE (7), GUNSEN ROSIE (2), MAORI TATTOO (8), ATTRACTED (6)

Race 8:

OVERVIEW: TRYX VIXEN (7) has been threatening to break through for a win in much better company than presents here. She runs the arm and is always tough up on speed and may even roll to the front here. Surely this is the race where she gets it done.
LA SMOOCH (1) is first-up with no trial but was showing encouraging signs last time and maps softly from the inside. ALCATRAZ MISS (2) is a very quick beginner but needs to find more at the end of her races. I AM MOLLY (6) is a debutant who has trialled fairly but strikes a suitable assignment.

BACK: TRYX VIXEN (7) – 4 units (win)

SELECTIONS: TRYX VIXEN (7), LA SMOOCH (1), ALCATRAZ MISS (2), I AM MOLLY (6)

Race 9:

OVERVIEW: ALDEBARAN ZANE (8) can mix his manners, but when he does everything right his efforts have been solid. With a safe getaway he can work into the race, and this isn’t overly strong opposition.

BET BET HOTSHOT (6) has turned around his form his past couple of runs and if he continues that trajectory can go close. WHAT A SERVE (3) seems to trot ok and has some early speed which helps. SAMBEZIA (3) is a query first up for a long time but stays under notice in an open race.

SELECTIONS: ALDEBARAN ZANE (8), BET BET HOTSHOT (6), WHAT A SERVE (3), SAMBEZIA (3)
