New South Wales-bred pacer Beyond Bling is an unsung star of trainer Lang Inwood’s Northam stable, and he relishes a busy racing program.

He was constantly in work in 2025 when he had 56 starts for seven wins and 19 placings, and Inwood has high hopes the hardy seven-year-old will improve his record of 148 starts for 19 wins and 42 placings by winning the Book Into Steelo’s Tonight Pace over 2130m at Gloucester Park on Friday night.

Beyond Bling will be driven by Emily Suvaljko and will begin from the No. 3 barrier. He made his first appearance in 2026 when he finished a close second to Captain Said So in a 2185m event at Pinjarra on Monday this week --- an encouraging effort which followed his half-length second to Blaze Away over 2130m at Gloucester Park on New Year’s Eve when he ran home strongly from seventh at the bell.

The 46-year-old Inwood made a wise decision in December 2024 to purchase Beyond Bling for $14,000 --- and since then the gelding has earned him $106,319 from 12 wins and 30 placings from 109 starts.

Inwood, who enjoyed his most successful season in his 28-year career as a trainer when he prepared 60 winners in 2025, has a handy second-string runner in Friday night’s event, with American Monarch lining up in the coveted No. 1 barrier, with Gary Hall jnr in the sulky.

American Monarch, who has raced 135 times for 14 wins, 47 placings and $158,787 in prizemoney, is in sound form, having been placed behind Strauny and Abitsiya at two of his past three starts.

Ace Pinjarra trainer-reinsman Chris Voak is looking for a strong performance from Northview Dance, who will begin from barrier No. 9, the outside of the front line in the Barn Babes Animal Farm Pace over 1730m.

Seven-year-old Northview Dancer should appreciate a considerable drop in class and looks hard to beat despite his wide draw.

His first three starts for Voak have produced a third to My Watchlist and seconds to Pushbutton Rock and Lincoln River.

“He got a flat tyre at the 700m and still ran second to Lincoln last week,” said an admiring Voak.
