In an effort to assist trainers in gaining a start with their horses and to achieve maximum field sizes effective immediately Racing Queensland have introduced the following policy:

A horse that is nominated for a race at a race meeting and fails to gain a start may be accepted into another race it may be eligible for upon confirmation with the trainer.

In other words if it is not viable to extend nominations for one or more races Racing Queensland handicappers may invite a horse nominated at a race meeting into another race at the same meeting at their discretion.

Horses may only accept for another race if that horse is eligible for such race and all other horses originally nominated have first priority.

A driver concession cannot be added for eligibility purposes however the automatic mare 3YO or 2YO concessions may apply unless stated otherwise in race conditions.

Handicappers may apply this policy at their discretion and may invite a horse or horses if they are likely to be competitve with and clearly not superior to those horses already nominated.

This policy applies to horses nominated at the race meeting only and no new nominations will be accepted unless a message has been sent to all participants to extend nominations.
