Race 1:

OVERVIEW: MAJOR ROY (8) is a tough pacer, which should win a race at short notice. He raced out three horses wide for the entire trip when a big third on debut then endured another tough run and broke stride at the 300m when a creditable third behind Dallascowboy at Charlton. MISS DOOBEE (6) is a first starter, which has won two trials recently and must be kept safe. She finished off in handy final sectionals to win comfortably at her latest trial attempt. MISSMALACHITE (3) worked extremely hard in the early stages and eventually found the front at the 1100m when a brave third at Stawell. She is a maiden from 33 starts but is getting closer to the money. SHUDABOUGHTABOAT (7) is still learning but he continues to improve with every attempt. He wanted to hang out and was reluctant to get back into the sprint lane before switching to the outside and finishing off nicely at his latest third.

BACK: MAJOR ROY (8) – 1 unit (each way)

SELECTIONS: MAJOR ROY (8), MISS DOOBEE (6), MISSMALACHITE (3), SHUDABOUGHTABOAT (7)

Race 2:

OVERVIEW: OUR ULTIMATE GRACY (7) was resuming since August when she began quickly to work to the front and scored over Spirit of Sahara and Written In Silk (won since) at Charlton. She performed extremely well at the trials prior and looms as a strong winning chance again. JAMES GARNER (3) is racing consistently and should be prominent throughout. He was left without cover for the entire journey and battled on well for second at Stawell last outing. FAIR CHANCE (4) led and finished third in the same race at Stawell but she is trained on the track and boasts a consistent record at Charlton so she is worth another chance. SPORTING RAGE (2) led out then took cover when second at Charlton last time out. He is likely to try and adopt a similar tactic now and is worth thought along with IMA CHARMA (1) and IMAGINATION ORO (8).

SELECTIONS: OUR ULTIMATE GRACY (7), JAMES GARNER (3), FAIR CHANCE (4), SPORTING RAGE (2)

Race 3:

OVERVIEW: SALSBOY (7) gained a nice trail throughout but was held up for a run at a vital stage and finished off fast for an unlucky second behind Fake Cullection at Charlton last outing. He has had a few chances recently but he strikes a suitable assignment and is worth an investment. FREAK OUT (6) is a fast beginner and should give a bold showing against this class. He attempted to lead throughout when second behind Zu Hoffen at Melton three starts ago and held his own at his latest Cranbourne fourth. VERY TEMPTING (5) possesses early speed and will find this race to be easier than his latest unplaced effort behind Ima Tiggy Tiger so he is a possible improver. STELLAR QUEEN (2) has the early speed to gain a prominent position in the early stages and is not without a chance.

SELECTIONS: SALSBOY (7), FREAK OUT (6), VERY TEMPTING (5), STELLAR QUEEN (2)

Race 4:

OVERVIEW: AETOS DYNAMIS (9) is resuming since March 2025 but he was very impressive at his latest runaway trial success and he strikes a suitable assignment for his first up run. LEGGY PEGGY (8) is rising in grade from her Maiden success but she was very impressive as she parked without cover and dashed well clear over the concluding stages. BUMPER SERVICE (5) finished third behind Sky Lindy in a stronger race at Shepparton two starts ago then followed with a close up fifth behind Midnite Muscle. He is racing well enough to figure in the finish against this class. NIGHT FLIGHT (2), SPANISH RIZARDO (7) and SO MUCH SWAGGER (10) all are worth thought in an open race.

BACK: AETOS DYNAMIS (9) – 1.5 units (each way)

SELECTIONS: AETOS DYNAMIS (9), LEGGY PEGGY (8), BUMPER SERVICE (5), SPANISH RIZARDO (7)

Race 5:

OVERVIEW: RAKERO WARRIOR (9) was suited by a genuine tempo throughout and ran over the top of his rivals to win clearly over Fremarks Peggy (won since) at Maryborough last outing. He has been placed in eight of his past ten starts (5 wins) and possesses a powerful finishing burst so he is clearly the horse to beat. BLACKRANGE GLORY (8) is a tough campaigner and will be competitive if he delivers a fool proof display. He only had three starts during his last preparation so he lacks solid racing but he will be fitter after an unplaced Stawell trial effort on Monday. BEAUTIFUL SUNRISE (4) settled midfield and finished off best to win over Midnite Muscle at Bendigo last outing. This is a race of more depth but she is worth thought again. MONTANA MUSCLE (1) is perfectly drawn to suit her racing pattern and HILLWINSOME (10) has the speed to figure in the finish.

BACK: RAKERO WARRIOR (9) – 3 units (win)

SELECTIONS: RAKERO WARRIOR (9), BLACKRANGE GLORY (8), BEAUTIFUL SUNRISE (4), HILLWINSOME (10)

Race 6:

OVERVIEW: INSIDER TRADING (10) was runner up twice in succession prior to a sixth at Charlton, where he settled in the second half of the field from a poor draw. He has had a few chances since his latest victory but he strikes a suitable assignment now. SOAR (6) is a speedy type and didn’t have a great deal of luck after being caught wide early and having no clear run in the straight last outing so he is not without a chance. ALPHA CRUCIS (8) finished off best to score in a mile of 1.57.9 at Cranbourne last outing. He is awkwardly drawn on the inside of the second line but this race is no harder so he must be considered as a winning chance again. NO EMOTION (7) settled three back on the inside and failed to run on at Stawell last outing but his overall form is solid and he is worth another chance. OPTIMAL (9) should be finishing off nicely from his trailing draw.

SELECTIONS: INSIDER TRADING (10), SOAR (6), ALPHA CRUCIS (8), NO EMOTION (7)

Race 7:

OVERVIEW: BREATHE EASY (9) continues to race in great form having won three of his past six starts. He led throughout and scored in a slick mile rate of 1.56.3 at Bendigo last outing so he should prove hard to beat again. IMPEACHED (6) finished off fast to win impressively at Ballarat last outing. He gets into this race nicely with a concession claim and should prove hard to beat again. LESTER (10) is a versatile pacer and scored nicely at Charlton last outing. This is a field of more depth but he has won three of his past five starts and should be competitive again. LITTLEBLABBAMOUTH (4) showed a return to form when she attempted to lead throughout and was beaten narrowly at Stawell on Monday. She is a good chance of finding the lead again and the short distance of this event is a definite advantage.

BACK: BREATHE EASY (9) – 2 units (win)

SELECTIONS: BREATHE EASY (9), IMPEACHED (6), LESTER (10), LITTLEBLABBAMOUTH (4)
