Launceston, Sunday 15 February

Race 1

BEACH DANCER (1) got beat as short price favourite last start when leading them up 3 wide, however he looks like holding the front here and will take some running down. MR BONDI (5) past 2 runs back from a spell have been encouraging, although he strikes an awkward draw here where he may have to roll forward from the gate. WE SALUTE YOU (8) will get his preferred pegs run following the favourite and will have every chance to run top 4. DIDYALOUSAROOSTA (2) and RAY DAN (9) will be looking to make use of their okay draws, to run into placings, whilst others in race such as HAMMER DAN (6) and JAMES CAGNEY (7) who have drawn wide.

Selections BEACH DANCER (1), MR BONDI (5), DIDYALOUSAROOSTA (2), RAY DAN (9)

Race 2

KLITSCHKO LEIS (4) ran home nicely for 2nd last start, and with natural improvement again, he will take some beating if he was able land on speed early. ALBY PRIDDY (3) did work mid race which took a toll on him late but should get a softer run from the draw here. MY BEAUTIFUL LIFE (8) ran a too fast first half over the middle trip last week, after galloping the start prior. The inside back row draw is not ideal but may be a blessing in disguise being driven quieter and will be looming late if he behaves. SPORTY GRANT (1) gets the pole draw after an improved effort for 3rd last time, whilst WINNING BREW (11) was seen climbing their backs last start also.

Selections KLITSCHKO LEIS (4), ALBY PRIDDY (4), MY BEAUTIFUL LIFE (8), SPORTY GRANT (1)

Race 3

DANCINWIVJOELENE (1) had every chance last start, but still ran a creditable 2nd, which that form should hold up in this race again. She draws the pole in what is a front row with a few gate speed horses, including HARRYS DEAL (5) who got severely interfered with last week, but has somewhat lost all form of late. Would expect OUTBACK ROCK (4) to again look to sit on speed, whilst ANGELSHAVTIME (7) may look to restrain this week from the wide draw, however she has been racing well when quietly with a sit in the past. ROLLWITHARTY (3) last 2 runs have been very good in the death seat, so another forward showing is expected here. ROCK AMOUR (2) ran an improved 4th last start again horses that would be short in the market here, so would expect him to be a good show from the handy draw.

Selections ROLLWITHARTY (3), DANCINWIVJOELENE (1), ANGELSHAVTIME (7), ROCK AMOUR (2)

Race 4

SABINE (3) has had a slight let up since her last start failure where she was slow away and never had the chance to make up the 40m handicap. Happy to ignore that run and go off her previous runs which would see her going very close here. Expecting MY WAY (4) to have a good look for the front early over the mile distance, where he was somewhat back to his best last start when 3rd. ANOTHER NIEN (9) is a consistent customer when racing in this grade, so from the draw I would expect him to take some holding out late, especially if he brought his 1.56 mile rate form from 4 starts back when doing all the work.  CUZZY BRO (2) will settle on speed and would think he can be in the finish at his best, whilst INDELIBLE (1) is aided by the pole draw which gives her a top 4 chance.

Selections SABINE (3), ANOTHER NIEN (9). MY WAY (4), CUZZY BRO (2)

Race 5

The stand start for the mares brings together an evenly classed line-up, where KEAYANG GALLIANO (2) will be looking to take advantage of the 10m head start to her main dangers. She was good last week in decent time when beaten by a potentially handy winner and led from the tapes at the trials from the stand. SUE NIEN (3) is a safe beginner and should be able to settle in the first couple horses, which will give her a chance to be in the finish. KOSTYUK LEIS (6) may settle better in the run from the stand, where she has got too keen in the run her past few which has tolled on her late. The rest of the field could bob up to win with the right run, probably bar the (1).

Selections KEAYANG GALLIANO (2), KOSTYUK LEIS (6), SUE NIEN (3), TULLAH GIRL (7)

Race 6

ULTIMACTION (6) faces the tapes for the first time here, but she has been in outstanding form going through her classes and often doing it tough in fast times. This is another step up  but she looks more than capable, which the longer distance should also be in her favour. WAZZA (1) has competed in lower grades than what he meets here but is a good beginner and his last start win was better than what times read, after doing work early. WHISKEY CAVALIER (2) is a classy ex NSW horse, although ran 6th of 7 last start, he was used early and went fast time to only be beaten 15m, so he would only need to hold that form to be in the finish here with a safe beginning. IRON CLAD (5) recaptured some form last week when a good 3rd, and looks the other danger in the race. Others in race would need to improve to be in the finish, where NEON (3) could run a cheeky race if he was able to step fast and find the pegs.

Selections ULTIMACTION (6), WAZZA (1), WHISKEY CAVALIER (2), IRON CLAD (5)

Race 7

ENJOY LIFE (1) will line up a short priced favourite, attempting to make it 4 from 4 in his career. He clearly has huge potential, however he is still learning his race craft, which is evident in his racing, including when he wasn’t on the mobile and put ODM 2 starts back, so the start from barrier 1 will be crucial for him. FAMILY REASONS (3) and REPETITIVE (5) both have good gate speed and will be looking to position themselves on speed, whilst CAMELOT JEDIMASTER (4) justified a strong market move when winning last start in good time. SHOEBEES SPIRIT (9) gets a nice trailing draw and will be hoping for some good tempo up front which will again allow him to run home well, as will STIR ME UP (10) and SIR NIPPA (7) who are consistent types.

Selections ENJOY LIFE (1), SHOEBEES SPIRIT (9), REPETITIVE (5), FAMILY REASONS (3)

Race 8

ARMA ROLLING STONE (2) was a strong winner last start, leading the 3 wide line in a fast run time overall. Would expect HAY MIKI (2) will be happy to take the sit on him knowing it will be a truly run race and he will get his chance late to run past him. He’s been very consistent, barring a couple races when back in field and had no hope making ground. LOYOLA TRIOS (8) gets a perfect trailing pegs draw and looks the one that will be looming late and will be suited by an even tempo up front. Would expect one of those 3 to be winning and be pegs dominated, whilst NORBET (6) past few runs have been encouraging, and KENYA (7) and NO NUKES SKIPPER (5) will be looking to run home into the top 4.

Selections HAY MIKI (1), ARMA ROLLING STONE (2), LOYOLA TRIOS (2), NORBET (6)
