Race 1:
OVERVIEW: NO EMOTION (2) endured a tough run and battled on strongly for second behind Rojenbye at Charlton last outing. He is a tough type and is drawn to be prominent throughout so he should prove hard to beat. HUXHAM CHUBB (8) had no luck from a poor draw at Terang last outing. She scored at Horsham on January 05 and was placed six times in succession prior to her past two performances so she warrants respect. MAXBECA (3) has been down on form recently but his trial effort at Maryborough on Sunday was encouraging and he has the ability to show up prominently. REGAL ROCK (4) and LORD VERDE (5) are both fast beginners and are racing well enough to feature prominently.

Race 2:
OVERVIEW: RANDOM MAHONEY (4) will appreciate a drop back in class for this assignment and he had excuses at his latest attempt, where he sustained a flat tyre. He finished off nicely for third in the Blue Pearl Classic at Swan Hill prior and he should prove hard to beat here. INSIDER TRADING (7) has been runner up in three of his past four starts and deserves to break through for a win. He led out then took cover when second behind Kyrgios at Swan Hill last outing. SECRETS KEPT (1) has been unplaced in both of her starts to date but she has won a trial at Shepparton leading up to her first up performance so she is a possible improver. ROJENBYE (5), FOREGONE CONCLUSION (6) and WICHITA KANSAS (8) are all capable of showing up without surprising.

Race 3:
OVERVIEW: MAJOR ROY (6) produced a big performance at his debut and should win a race at short notice. He raced out three horses wide for the entire journey and was still giving on the line for third in a mile rate of 1.56.5. He is widely drawn again but should take tossing. KEAYANG HUNGRY (4) appears to be the obvious danger. He commenced from the inside of the second line, trailed the leader and used the sprint lane when beaten by a very narrow margin at Terang at his debut. DALLASCOWBOY (3) is a nicely bred first starter for trainer Shane Sanderson, which finished off boldly to win a trial at Shepparton last week and appears to have a promising future. SWEET MARION (1), TRYX VIXEN (2) and ELCHEAPO CLAIRE (9) are all worth thought in multiple combinations.

Race 4:
OVERVIEW: CHEERS POVERTY (4) possesses early speed and is usually competitive against this class. He led from a wide draw, took cover and finished second behind Royal Saxon in fast time at Mildura last outing. CHAMPAGNE WALSH (8) performed below expectations after trailing the leader when eleventh at Shepparton last outing. He produced a big finish to pick up Wazowski when he scored at his only start at Charlton to date and he is worth another chance. MONSIEUR FLAMEL (3) is better than his form reads and he performs best when he is close to the speed so an improved effort would not surprise. CALIVIL (9) was unplaced when resuming at Shepparton but won a trial at Bendigo prior and is not without a chance.

Race 5:
OVERVIEW: It is a very open race with many winning chances. SALSBOY (9) disappointed last outing but he drops back in class and is capable of sprinting to the line quickly with the right trail forward. STANDANDELIVER (11) will also appreciate a drop back in class for this assignment and ran a reasonable race at his latest fifth so he is not without a chance. LILNOVA (2) was heavily supported at Echuca three starts ago and finished third after gaining a nice run on the markers. She is drawn to be prominent throughout and is worth thought. FAKE CULLECTION (6) led out then took cover when second behind Our Mystery Bet at Shepparton then finished unplaced in a slick mile rate of 1.56.6. She should go well against this class despite the wide draw.

Race 6:
OVERVIEW: LESTER (9) pushed forward to find the lead and scored over Insider Trading in a mile rate of 1.57.0 at Maryborough then followed with a close third at Charlton. He gets into this race with a concession claim and is worth thought again. KALKADOON DREAMING (8) had no luck whatsoever when eighth at Melton last outing. He was runner up at his two starts prior and he is very strong so he is worth an investment. FAVOURITEHIGHLIGHT (5) settled three back on the markers after being headed off at the start from the pole position and finished off quickly to win at Bendigo. He has been racing consistently and must be considered as a winning chance again. MALAVA MISS (6) and LINE UP JACQUIE (7) are both capable of showing up without surprising.

Race 7:
OVERVIEW: FAIR CHANCE (6) has been freshened since a close second at Charlton in a fast mile of 1.55.9. She hasn’t finished further back than fourth at her past twelve starts and is trained locally so she must be respected. OUR ULTIMATE GRACY (5) makes her debut for trainer Kerryn Manning and finished a close second behind Jet Rock in fast time at a recent Terang trial performance. She strikes a suitable assignment first up and must be considered as a winning chance. SPIRIT OF SAHARA (9) finished a narrow second behind Direct Command at Shepparton last outing. He should be hitting the line strongly from his trailing draw. SPORTS NARRATOR (11) led throughout to defeat Lewielewis (won since) at Swan Hill two starts ago so he cannot be left out of calculations.
