Race 1

DIDYALOUSAROOSTA (6) looks very well graded here in the no more than four wins company compared to what several of his rivals have been contesting against recently and should be hard to beat. The Todd Rattray-trained pair UNMATCHED (5) and PREPARATION (4) both made errors last start when resuming from their 3yo campaign, but if they bring their best manners they loom as the main dangers. SPORTZSILK (3) is always around the mark in these types of races and should again be competitive for a placing. PEANUT SUTTER (2) and HALIS BOY (1) appear somewhat outclassed against this opposition.

Selections DIDYALOUSAROOSTA (6) PREPARATION (4), UNMATCHED (5), SPORTZSILK (3)

Race 2

WHISKEY CAVALIER (6) is unlikely to find a more suitable race than what he meets here. Back to the mile and with the concession claim against runners who have not won in their past eight starts, he should press straight to the front and will take a power of beating. MY WAY (4) shapes as the main danger and has been going better than his form suggests. DAT LOU (1) draws the pole and gets his chance to return to the placings over the short trip. EAGLE WATCH (2) has been better than his Tasmanian form reads, while WE SALUTE YOU (3) showed some improvement when finishing third last start. ROCKNALLOVERTHEWORLD (5) has been disappointing since arriving in the state and will need to lift to be competitive.

Selections WHISKEY CAVALIER (6), MY WAY (4), DAT LOU (1), EAGLE WATCH (2)

Race 3

ROCKS ROY (8) has been in excellent form over the past few months and clearly brings the strongest current form into this race. The longer distance and 20-metre handicap should suit his racing pattern and he looks well placed to feature again. INVITATION ONLY (7) is the other class runner in the field and if he produces some of his best form, he should be right in the finish. REPETITIVE (3) and SETTEBELLO (4) are the sharpest beginners from the front row and will be looking to make full use of that advantage early. It would not surprise to see others run into the placings, including SAPPHIRE GAMBLER (6), who is always thereabouts in these types of races and rarely runs a poor one.

Selections ROCKS ROY (8), INVITATION ONLY (7), REPETITIVE (3), SETTEBELLO (4)

Race 4

MARY MOURNE (3) was very strong first up in the state when doing all the work and meets a similar field here. She may again have to sit outside the leader, most likely RESURGENT WARRIOR (1), who has shown glimpses of ability and gets his chance again from the pole draw. DEFENCE ATTORNEY (5) and FAMILY REASONS (6) drop slightly in class from recent assignments but will need some luck from their awkward draws. SWEET DIXIE (4) should look to settle handy and give herself every opportunity. The back row runners will be relying on genuine tempo throughout to bring them into the race, including ANDAMAN BAY (8) who looks to get a cosy peg run and hope he sees clear space unlike his last 2 starts.

Selections MARY MOURNE (3), RESURGENT WARRIOR (1), ANDAMAN BAY (8), DEFENCE ATTORNEY (5)

Race 5

There appears to be solid gate speed engaged across the front row over the mile. FIVE STAR SHARK (5) will be keen to press forward and find the pegs, which should give him his best chance of featuring. PARK LANE (2) also possesses early speed but can race keenly if used too hard early, which may ensure a genuinely run race. LOUTENANT (1) showed signs of improvement last start when making ground from the rear and finally draws favourably. JILLIBY JAY SEA (3) should be able to settle on speed with cover and will be looking to notch up consecutive victories. LA PIERRE (7) draws wide but has been racing well, while EVERYTHING BUT THE (11) produced a good second last start when on his best behaviour but will also rely on genuine tempo to bring him into contention over the short trip.

Selections FIVE STAR SHARK (5), JILLIBY JAY SEA (3), PARK LANE (2), LOUTENANT (1)

Race 6

The lowest class field of the day brings together a somewhat competitive contest. BARBETTE (4) has been quite consistent of late and if able to settle on speed with cover, she should loom as a winning chance late. FEELINKINDALUCKY (3) led and won at Burnie last start and will again be looking to cross the pole marker and control the race. STAROFREMEMBRANCE (7) resumes from a spell and is typically around the placings in races of this nature, while the middle distance should suit his closing style. QUEENOFDANCE (8) has returned to form recently and with a touch of luck from the draw can be competitive again. IDEN REGAL WAVE (9) has been awkward in the score-up his past couple but has still managed to make ground late, and if he brings his best form could also feature.

Selections BARBETTE (4), STAROFREMEMBRANCE (7), QUEENOFDANCE (8), IDEN REGAL WAVE (9)
