Form Analysis by Ryan Phelan

Race 1:
OVERVIEW: SKY LINDY (5) was most impressive having her first run for the new stable, winning well at Swan Hill. She was forced to work on that occasion and still pulled away in the straight. With natural improvement, she will be hard to run down again.
ALDEBARAN BUDDY (3) is on the quick back-up after a sound second when a well-supported favourite at Bendigo. He had every chance there but was first-up, so improvement is likely. SUZYS DREAM (2) has regained positive form of late, including a fast-finishing second in a slightly tougher race than she faces here. WAIKARE ADRIENNA (9) ran second to Sky Lindy two back and has since franked that form with a win, though she can be a little enigmatic.
BACK: SKY LINDY (5) – 3 units (win)
SELECTIONS: SKY LINDY (5), ALDEBARAN BUDDY (3), SUZYS DREAM (2), WAIKARE ADRIENNA (9)
Race 2:
OVERVIEW: BILL (4) creates plenty of interest having his second run for the Pitt stable. He was well supported despite an awkward draw at Bendigo, and only really got clear late, finding the line well. He looks to have upside if he can take improvement from that run.
ELCHEAPO CLAIRE (2) has been well beaten her past couple, but is worth respecting based on earlier form. She looks likely to get across to the pegs here. LOWER WEST SIDE (3) was unlucky on debut and then well supported last time when third. She didn’t have the best of luck there, though she may have been entitled to finish off a little better. HELLO POSSUMS (6) has been going well without winning but faces a tricky draw.
BACK: BILL (4) – 3 units (win)
SELECTIONS: BILL (4), ELCHEAPO CLAIRE (2), LOWER WEST SIDE (3), HELLO POSSUMS (6)
Race 3:
OVERVIEW: OUR MYSTERY BET (2) remarkably, had never led in his 112-start career prior to last week, when he absolutely bolted in and looked like a different horse. He’s always been tough and around the mark, and if he can find the front again there’s no reason, he can’t repeat the performance.
MASON JOLIE (10) drops in class after finishing fourth at Shepparton last start; he was a good winner prior and has shown ability overall. MISS PIGGY WIGGY (4) has been in career-best form over the past couple of months and is on the quick back-up, though the map is a slight query. FAVOURITEHIGHLIGHT (1) lacks brilliant gate speed, but if she can hold leaders back, she’ll be a chance late.
BACK: OUR MYSTERY BET (2) – 3 units (win)
SELECTIONS: OUR MYSTERY BET (2), MASON JOLIE (10), MISS PIGGY WIGGY (4), FAVOURITEHIGHLIGHT (1)
Race 4:
OVERVIEW: INTRUSION (7) has been outstanding in his two runs for trainer Craig Turnbull, winning both the heat and final of the Regional Series. He gets no favours with the draw again, but he overcame that last time, running scintillating time when coming wide. Look for him late.
MIKI B (8) went down as an odds-on favourite last start when seemingly having every chance. The trainer suggested the quick back-up may have played a role, and he does have ability if right. EMMA ROX (1) has won her past two at Melton and is going very well, making it hard to ignore her despite stepping up again. SPECTA (3) was a winner in easier company two back and had to overcome a tough draw last time.
BACK: INTRUSION (7) – 2 units (win)
SELECTIONS: INTRUSION (7), MIKI B (8), EMMA ROX (1), SPECTA (3)
Race 5:
OVERVIEW: MYNAMEISRUBY (4) runs her best races when able to lead, and she returns to the front row after racing well from the back row for third last week. James Herbertson seems to get the best out of her, which is another positive.
THE ACCIDENTAL ONE (3) was in that same race and found the line well, and maps better this time. VERY TEMPTING (6) should look to float across and can improve in what appears a more suitable race, while stablemate BLUE OCEAN (2) presents a similar case from the favourable draw.
SELECTIONS: MYNAMEISRUBY (4), THE ACCIDENTAL ONE (3), VERY TEMPTING (6), BLUE OCEAN (2)
Race 6:
OVERVIEW: KEAYANG OMAR (4) started favourite on Shepparton Cup night and ran fairly without enjoying the best of trips. From a better draw he can be more positive and race in a stronger position.
OLLIES MEDAL (5) was able to lead in that same race and had every chance, if he controls the tempo again, he’ll be hard to run down. SPIRIT OF SHARA (6) ran second in that event and that was his best run for some time, so a repeat would see him strong late despite the awkward map. WITH IN REASON (8) is a tough type who can be strong late if they overcook things up front.
SELECTIONS: KEAYANG OMAR (4), OLLIES MEDAL (5), SPIRIT OF SHARA (6), WITH IN REASON (8)
Race 7:
OVERVIEW: RANDOM MAHONEY (4) finds a suitable race here after a series of solid placings. She carried a flat tyre last time, so that run can be forgiven, and she maps well from the draw.
CHAMPAGNE WALSH (6) is the stablemate, comes through similar form lines, and will go close with the right run. HIGHVIEW HAMMER (3) is a quick beginner who led all the way last week; the win was good, but he does struggle to string them together. CALVIL (8) was well backed last time and was just okay but stays under notice in a more suitable race.
SELECTIONS: RANDOM MAHONEY (4), CHAMPAGNE WALSH (6), HIGHVIEW HAMMER (3), CALVIL (8)
