Form Analysis by Darren Clayton
RACE ONE
After three successive gate 1 starts that would be ideal for any hors except VICTREE CHARLIE (4), a wider gate assisted with his lack of early hustle last start. Floating back early, he had speed over the latter stages to reel them in for a deserved win. Tempo will be his friend in chasing a repeat.
MIARKA (1) resumed with a 3rd when pressing on from gate 5 to lead them up and turning for home peaked on the run when 10m astern of FRENCH BUBBLES. Fitter and taken to Redcliffe second-up, she was a comfortable winner and has the gate here to issue a challenge.
COUNTY COURT JUDGE (10) has placed at his past two starts when chasing home MOONSHINER on each occasion. The second line is a tough ask here, but he can join in.
JILLIBY GIDDEY (3) should take further benefit from his latest appearance when third up from a break. Sitting parked and chasing home the smart MOONSHINER at his past two, he has claims in this.
SELECTIONS: VICTREE CHARLIE (4), MIARKA (1), COUNTY COURT JUDGE (10), JILLIBY GIDDEY (3)
SUGGESTED BET: VICTREE CHARLIE (4) to win
RACE TWO
Just the six combatants to step out here at the middle trip, with questionable credentials against some of them for the distance. COMMODORE JUJON (4) is not one of those, with a great record over the trip, including a win here five back and then two starts back worked hard in the run when beaten a lip behind DAISY DIANA. He can chalk up another W here.
GREAT ACHIEVER (3) returns to make his first appearance as a 4YO, ending his last term with a Redcliffe victory. Not too far away in a strong event claimed by FINAL DEADLINE two starts back and with a sound trial in readiness for the return, he can look to challenge fresh.
GLENEAGLE VEE CEE (5) has worked his way into good touch with a win and placing from his past two starts. Darting through on the passing lane to score at this trip two back, he hit the line smartly from deep field last time.
SELECTIONS: COMMODORE JUJON (4), GREAT ACHIEVER (3), GLENEAGLE VEE CEE (5)
SUGGESTED BET: COMMODORE JUJON (4) to win
RACE THREE
The first heat round for the Jim McNeil Series which has been a target for MAJESTIC BREEZE (3) since arriving in Qld. A first up winner, she made an error second up that saw her banished to the trials. Earning the return and overcoming a 10m impost to score last start, she looks ideally placed from the front.
WHIRLWIND WILBUR (6) got it all wrong and ended any chance here two starts back from the tapes which was an anomaly against his manners as he is normally a great beginner. Bouncing back with a victory from the mobile last time, he comes right into calculations here from 10m.
SON OF A SUN (9) is another that looks well positioned for this series from 10m, having met stronger opposition in recent starts. A close 2nd from the mobile two back, he has claims here.
CALL ME TROUBLE (10) can absolutely win this from 20m, however it comes with a forcible caveat. If he trots throughout and the right version turns up, however that is the unknown.
SELECTIONS: MAJESTIC BREEZE (3), WHIRLWIND WILBUR (6), SON OF A SUN (9), CALL ME TROUBLE (10)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJESTIC BREEZE (3) to win
RACE FOUR
Could today be the day that TOMMY BLIGH (4) breaks his AP duck? In a race full of chances, he will get his following a last start 3rd here on Tuesday where he pressed on from this same gate to set the tempo, only to be reeled in as ROCKTIME sailed home to score. Grabbing bronze in four of his past six, he can mark the sesqui-centenary of career starts in fine fashion.
MISS HATTIE (2) was trying to make an impression over the closing stages last start but could not get warm as MAN OF ACTION took the prize. Midfield after working in transit at the 2138 the start prior, settling handy from this gate at the mile can see her challenge in an even contest.
BEACH MAGIC (8) was searching for gaps that needed to arrive sooner than they did when under 5m from the winner last time out. He will be requiring some luck again from this gate.
SAINT LOUIS BEAT (9) has been runner-up at his past two in succession from bad gates, the latest when 5m astern of the winner MAN OF ACTION from this same gate. He is in the mix.
SELECTIONS: TOMMY BLIGH (4), MISS HATTIE (2), BEACH MAGIC (8), SAINT LOUIS BEAT (9)
SUGGESTED BET: TOMMY BLIGH (4) to win
RACE FIVE
It has been a mixed bag in three starts in Qld for SASSY GALLEON (4), a filly that certainly has the ability. Taking no part in The Great Square following an error, she then scored effortlessly from a 10m tape second up. A starting error last time again ended her hopes after being sent out deep into the red. Her fate will probably be known after the first 100m.
DAIMYO (7) has developed a great record on this deck since arriving and chalked up a win from the mobile last start when sent to the front and trotting strongly throughout to record good time for the mobile mile. After facing some bigger handicaps, moving forward to 10m is a big asset.
SOUTHERN DIAMOND (9) is a 6YO making his first race appearance on this side of the Tasman, arriving a four-time winner, the last of those victories in April 2024. Not asked for much in a recent trial, he stays under notice.
ALDEBARANSTILINSKI (10) looked set to win for fun last start from the pocket trail but made an error and his chances went up in dust. Defeating AJAY VOLSTEAD the start prior, the 20m does look a tough hurdle.
SELECTIONS: SASSY GALLEON (4), DAIMYO (7), SOUTHERN DIAMOND (9), ALDEBARANSTILINSKI (10)
SUGGESTED BET: SASSY GALLEON (4) to win
RACE SIX
Another second line gate presents for BETTOR CHEER (11) in a race over 2138 where many runners might find the distance beyond their optimum. Backing up from Tuesday where he was making good metres in the closing stages, if the gap arrived sooner, he certainly could have been closer to the winner. He can descend on them here.
LA MISTRESS (10) has questionable credentials at the middle trip, with just win in 15 appearances beyond the mile. A winner here three starts back over the shorter trip when finding space to drop in behind the speed, with the right cart home, she can improve her figures in this open contest.
IDEAL DESIRE (4) fired off the arm last start over the mile and was trying to repel the challengers when fading in the last strides into 3rd, 2m astern of the winner. She can feature again.
MY ULTIMATE VICTOR (9) was eased off the arm last start before attacking the line strongly to be just a blister from victory behind JIMMY BLING. Meeting much stronger company the start prior, he can chime in here.
SELECTIONS: BETTOR CHEER (11), LA MISTRESS (10), IDEAL DESIRE (4), MY ULTIMATE VICTOR (9)
SUGGESTED BET: BETTOR CHEER (11) to win
RACE SEVEN
At his best off the speed, the right map presents BORSELLINO (1) to be stalking the speed and ready to take his shot when the gaps open. Snagged back from a wide gate last start when first up from a break, he was hitting the line in good style. Out sped in the two prior appearances, he finds conditions to strike.
IM BOO (7) found ideal conditions last start, finding the front and dictating to an easy victory at the mile. Scoring a similar victory five runs back, he likes to roll from the front and despite the wide gate, he can press the button early here and will throw down the challenge.
SPORTY ZARA (5) was returning from a break two starts back when striking trouble in a small field and finishing at the rear. Grabbing bronze last start when sent to the post as fav, she can chime in here.
MERRY JEWEL (4) was working toward a victory after successive placings and secured the ideal trip to grab a 3m win last start. Positioning cheaply from this gate will be the key to her chances.
SELECTIONS: BORSELLINO (1), IM BOO (7), SPORTY ZARA (5), MERRY JEWEL (4)
SUGGESTED BET: BORSELLINO (1) to win
