Race 1:

OVERVIEW: MUSCLE VALLEY (5) was good on debut where he showed speed but was forced to sit parked and endured a tough run. He’s certain to derive plenty of benefit from that outing and was only narrowly beaten, so with natural improvement he looks the one to beat.
CRESCO CASHFLOW (1) finished third in that race and it was an improved performance when able to lead. He again draws softly. I AM SKYE CHIOLA (7) isn’t the most reliable conveyance but has an SP profile that suggests ability. WEDGE TAIL EAGLE (6) has a couple of placings to his name without threatening and faces a tough draw.

Race 2:

OVERVIEW: INTO THE HARKNESS (3) failed as an odds-on favourite last time out at Melton, but this presents as a far more winnable assignment. She has very good gate speed to press forward and find the lead, and the James Herbertson factor is a key positive.
LOMBOK (4) is a tough mare and although the draw isn’t ideal, she profiles as the logical danger. SPORTS NARRATOR (7) led all the way last time after dropping in class, is going well but has a map disadvantage. STAG PARTY (1) hasn’t won for a while but is open to improvement from the draw.

Race 3:

OVERVIEW: NUGGET ROGERS (5) is starting to test favourite backers, but there’s no doubt that if he brings his A-game he’s hard to beat. The sectionals he’s been producing have ensured he stays in the blackbook, and with the right run he looks the horse to beat.
CITY ROCKSTAR (1) has been racing consistently this preparation and draws ideally to showcase his preferred racing pattern when able to lead. MISTER JIMARINGLE (6) is chasing a hat-trick of wins but resumes from July and must overcome a wide draw, although he does have ability. SPORTSBOU (2) can improve with added fitness and wasn’t far away last time from a tougher setup.

Race 4:

OVERVIEW: GEMMY LOU (6) is on the quick back-up and was very well supported when resuming at Charlton. She didn’t have much luck there, being held up at a vital stage, and with even fortune this time can be very hard to beat.
MYSTIC MOTIVER (5) went close on debut last time in a race that may have been slightly more favourable. BETTERBWATCHING (1) draws nicely to get a soft run, likely behind the speed, and was solid last time. SEASIDE SHOW (2) was driven aggressively to lead in the Gemmy Lou race but was found wanting late; a softer run could see improvement.

SELECTIONS: GEMMY LOU (6), MYSTIC MOTIVER (5), BETTERBWATCHING (1), SEASIDE SHOW (2)

 

Race 5:

OVERVIEW: MEADOW VALLEY STAR (8) was excellent on debut for the new stable when winning the Hamilton Cup, bringing his best manners and showcasing the quality his enigmatic nature has often hidden. A repeat of that performance sees him hard to beat again.
STOCKMAN PETER (5) was third in that race and James Herbertson retains the drive. He was well supported last time and remains hard to knock. JOHNS BOY (7) won at this same meeting last year and handles the stand but does need to lift on recent efforts. CHAMPAGNE CHARLEY (4) has a good standing-start record and should be in front of many of his rivals for a long way.

Race 6:

OVERVIEW: GALLICO (11) has been consistent throughout much of his short career, and his recent runs have been most encouraging. He was a strong winner three back and solid last time in the Young Guns Series. He draws awkwardly, but his main dangers also face back-row challenges.
BRAVE ART (8) had every chance when leading last time, but this assignment is no harder. IMA TIGGY TIGER (10) produced her best run to date when breaking her maiden last time and a repeat makes her hard to beat. EASTBRO JESSE (7) is often thereabouts and just needs luck from the draw.

Race 7:

OVERVIEW: ALOT LIKE LOUIE (9) has had no luck whatsoever since his strong and deserved win at Melton four runs ago. He’s been plagued by bad draws and was even forced to withdraw due to a flat tyre last time. Hopefully his run of misfortune has ended and his luck turns.
PESCI (8) has won three of his past five and was a strong winner last time at Melton when coming from well off the speed. DHAULAGIRI (5) is a country cups stalwart who always commands respect and is well suited from the front row. CURYO GENTLEMAN (4) is a quick beginner in solid form who may just need the right tempo to see out the trip.

BACK: ALOT LIKE LOUIE (9) – 2 units (win)

SELECTIONS: ALOT LIKE LOUIE (9), PESCI (8), DHAULAGIRI (5), CURYO GENTLEMAN (4)

 

Race 8:

OVERVIEW: OFF YOUR FACESKI (3) has developed a strong association with driver Ewa Justice and chases four wins in a row here. He has good early gate speed and is tough, so the draw suits him to press forward and be driven like the best horse.
ME AND ZAC (5) and RASTAMON (9) were both in the market behind Off Your Faceski last time but did things wrong, if they behave, they stay under notice. JILLIBY BLISS (7) joins a new stable and has shown ability previously, so any betting moves should be noted.
