Race 1:
OVERVIEW: NICE ONE CENTURION (6) made it through to the Super Series Final won by Miki To Success so he will appreciate a massive drop back in class for this assignment. He is versatile and is suited to competing over the sprint distance so a bold showing is expected. ROCKNROLL ROCKET (5) settled in the second half of the field and couldn’t work into the race when unplaced at Kilmore last week ($4-00 fav). He moves to the front line now and was impressive at the trials prior so he is worth another chance. POPCORNFRIDAY (9) held the lead from the pole position and copped plenty of pressure in the early stages of the event when a brave second to McWizard in a slick mile rate of 1.54.9 last week. He should be reaching his peak form after having two starts back from a spell and is worth an investment. LAMBRO MACH (10) has had a few chances recently but he is a class horse when racing at his peak. He endured a tough run at his latest fourth ($1-85 fav) and is capable of running a bold race under these conditions.

Race 2:
OVERVIEW: It is an open race with many winning chances. ALDEBARAN SUSANNE (4) settled in the second half of the field from the inside of the second line and was wide on the home turn when a game second at Geelong. She pushed forward to find the lead and scored at Ballarat prior so she should give a forward showing. LEANNE LEEANN (3) raced without cover early then gained a trail at the bell when she scored at Geelong last outing. She is drawn to be close to the speed again and must be considered as a winning chance. FREIGHT SHAKER (6) is a strong trotter, which led throughout to win at Melton prior his latest fourth, where he raced without cover for the majority of the trip. This race is no harder and he is worth thought again. JAKARTA (2) is working back to his best form and was placed in the Horsham Cup last outing so he is not without a chance. IM ABOVE THE LAW (8), MAJESTIC TOOTH (9) and TICTOK (10) are all worth thought in multiple combinations.

Race 3:
OVERVIEW: AMPHIJET (7) faces a negative swing in the barrier draw but he is racing in career best form and is worth thought again. He led throughout and scored comfortably in a mile of 1.53.4 at Geelong on December 12. STEEL RULER (8) settled three back on the inside and finished off well via the sprint lane when third behind AMPHIJET (7) last outing. He is awkwardly drawn on the inside of the second line but should be hitting the line strongly. PLATINUM JIVE (5) is rising in class on her latest performances but she was impressive at her latest victory, where she was caught wide early, restrained to a rearward position and rallied in the home straight. She looms as one of the leading chances again. FERRIGNO (4) possesses early speed and is racing consistently so he is not without a chance.

Race 4:
OVERVIEW: HUXHAM CHUBB (2) enjoyed a drop back in class from the Super Series and the Breeders Crown when she worked to the front shortly after the start and scored in a mile of 1.55.3 at Geelong last outing. She is perfectly drawn and will prove hard to beat again. TOO THE MAX (4) possesses early speed and looms as the logical threat. He attempted to lead throughout when a narrow second at Stawell then followed with a third at Melton in a mile rate of 1.55.8. EARS THE BOSS (8) has an awkward trailing draw but he performed well when second behind Olivia Rose at Melton last outing so he is not without a chance. AVEIRO (3) won from behind the leader at Kilmore last outing and is worth thought along with WICHITA KANSAS (6).

Race 5:
OVERVIEW: STEEL THE MOMENT (6) finished off best to win over the smart filly Rocknroll Willow then followed with a fast finishing second behind Browniesatmidnight at Horsham. He is building up a consistent record and looms as one of the leading chances again. RUBY WINGATE (5) is a talented mare that scored in a mile of 1.55.6 at Charlton three starts ago. She was unsuited in a slowly run race at her latest attempt and is worth another chance. GALAXY LASS (4) led out then took cover when a close third behind Pesci in a mile rate of 1.53.6 at Melton two starts ago then finished unplaced in a heat of the Breeders Crown. She possesses early speed and should give a forward showing. ROCKNMETRO (1) is stepping up in class but has the early speed to be prominent early and NAKULA (8) is much better than her numerical form suggests.

Race 6:
OVERVIEW: YANKEE GAMBLER (2) raced without cover on the outside of IM THE WILD ONE (7) and was able to outstay that pacer in the run to the finish when a game winner at Ballarat two starts back. He is usually competitive against this class and is drawn to be prominent throughout. IAMAWINGATE (1) performs best when he is able to trail the leader so he is perfectly drawn to suit his racing pattern. He hasn’t been at his best form for some time but he has won ten races for the season and his last run was encouraging. SPUN SILVER (3) is a short course specialist and was able to lead throughout in a mile rate of 1.58.5 at Shepparton last week. She is a good chance of finding the lead again and is worth an investment. STAR RULER (5) and IM THE WILD ONE (7) are both capable of showing up without surprising.

Race 7:
OVERVIEW: EYE SEE AMOUR (2) has hit the line hard at his two starts back from a spell and is ready to break through for a win. He finished off well in a slick last half of 56.8 seconds when third last week so sectionally his run was excellent. SPEEDY HEALEY (8) has competed in heats of the Super Series and the Breeders Crown at his past two attempts so he will appreciate a drop back in class for this assignment. He was a winner over LITTLEBLABBAMOUTH (5) in August and he should be finding the line strongly under these conditions. MIDNIGHT MOJO (7) pushed forward to race without cover and battled on strongly when a close second at Kilmore last outing. This race is no harder and she is capable of going one better. WOODLEA DIEGO (4) will appreciate his easiest assignment for some time and is capable of improving on his numerical form.

OVERVIEW: OUR ANGELS ENVY (6) is a nicely bred filly that should continue to improve with the benefit of racing. She attempted to lead throughout when a close third at Kilmore last outing and she strikes a suitable assignment now. COLORADO GIRL (1) is a fast beginner and is drawn to be prominent throughout. She trailed the leader and came to the outside on the home turn when second in a mile rate of 1.58.2 at Horsham last week. SEGUI LE STELLA (3) settled in the second half of the field and ran home strongly out wide late when second at Ballarat two starts ago. She has been placed seven times this season and she should be competitive against this line up. NORMANS GIRL (5) and STYLISTIK (8) are both minor place hopes in the event.
