OVERVIEW: STEEL RULER (8) enjoyed a good trip in the Stawell cup last start and chased determinedly when runner up. Drawn to get a soft trip again here and if the openings appear he should be fighting out the finish. BIG SLEDGE HAMMER (6) tough pacer that proved too strong after doing his share of work to win last start. Racing well and should prove hard to hold out. AMPHIJET (2) is going very well and does have the early speed to be in a prominent position and just needs an ounce of luck to be a strong winning chance. ASMILEANDAWINX (1) gets an ideal draw to utilise his early gate speed to be well poised. Should be in this for a long way. CLARENDEN EXPRESS (9) TOORAM CEE CEE (5) and IMAGINATION ORO (4) are all racing well and will be storming home late. With suitable trips must be respected.

Race 2:
OVERVIEW: HUXHAM CHUBB (4) has competed against some very smart 3yo fillies in recent months and will find this an easier assignment. Looks suited and gets her chance to get back into form. GUARANTEED TROUBLE (11) racing well for a race of this class and despite the second line draw is suited by the sprint trip should figure in the finish. METRO BLISS (9) gets a nice trailing draw and was a winner three starts ago and expect him to be running on late. I OF THE HURRIKANE (12) very capable of improving here and must include. RIDDLEMETHIS (3) broke through for a much-deserved win last start and won impressively. Drawn well and despite the class rise should be in this for a long way. Both WEREGOINGTOGETCHA (10) and WATCH IT HAPPEN (7) are going better than their figure form reads to be place and first four hopes.

OVERVIEW: KEAYANG GYPSY (5) has been very impressive winning at her past two starts and bolted in when finding the lead and running away for an easy win in slick times. Hard to beat again. ALDEBARAN SUSANNE (8) racing in great form and was very strong winning last start. Drawn awkwardly and sure to run well again. LEANNE LEEANN (4) tough old mare that rarely runs a poor race and will be doing her best here. Place chance. QUAKE PROOF (10) BUSLIN BRODY (11) OK KNOX (12) and SPIRITED LASS (13) are racing well and will be doing their best work late and have place and first four claims.

OVERVIEW: EL RESAMO (4) can produce a mix bag of form at times but does have his share of very good ability at his best. Loves to lead, suited by the sprint trip and is sure to give them plenty to chase. NAKEDTRUTH (2) racing with great zest and does have the early speed to settle handy and should be in this for a long way. AVANT GUARD (1) in good form and should enjoy a good trip along the pegs and will be striking late. Definite threat. Both MITCHELL WRAP (3) and GEE CEE CALER (9) will be well placed behind the speed and can’t be dismissed. DICHOTOMY (10) MORE WANTED (5) GOTFEELINGSYOUKNOW (6) EBONYS AVENGER (7) and TWEEDLEDEE (8) all have very good ability and will need luck from their respective draws and are amongst the place and first four hopes.

Race 5:
OVERVIEW: WRITTEN IN SILK (4) has found a new zest for racing life and produced a career best performance to win last start by running her rivals off her feet in slick times. A mare in form and will take some catching again. IM WESLEY (10) excellent run last start and finished off strongly. Not out of this and can be a threat. MONTANA PRIDE (12) in great form having started a short price favourite and having won his past two starts and despite facing a challenging draw in this will be doing his best work late again. AUCKLAND RED (11) looked a strong winning chance last start but couldn’t run down the leader. Goes well again here. Both JILLIBY SELWOOD (9) and LUVERBOY (13) are going well and have place and first four claims.

Race 6:
OVERVIEW: REPELLING (3) gets another chance here to race on the speed and give a big sight. Hasn’t been far away and is a definite each way chance. SMOKEN ACE (6) frustrating pacer that has his share of quirks. He disappointed last start but his prior form was suggesting that he was ready to win. His best form wins this, but he needs to produce it! SWEET IDEAL (7) certainly didn’t run to best last start, should drop out here from the wide draw and it appears her best racing pattern is when driven that way. She’s too good to dismiss and she will be storming home late! STRAPPING RED (4) up in class but going very well! Sits just behind the speed here and won’t be far away. LOUIE LOU I (9) capable pacer but appears to be racing just below his best. Strikes a suitable race to get back into form and should be running here! MY UNCLE STAN (1) gets the right draw over the sprint trip and does have a good record in these map situations however the rise in class is the major query!

OVERVIEW: LINK IN BIO (5) is a talented mare in good form and has plenty of early speed and was very good in taking out the Stawell Trotters Cup from the stand at her latest run. Back to the mobile here but looks hard to beat again. KYVALLEYHONEYBUNNY (4) racing in good form and can settle in a prominent position and will get every chance. Can be a threat. LITTLE YANKEE (9) working back into form and does possess a sharp sprint. Not out of this. DOSSIER (2) draws nicely and is very honest and never far away. Must be rated amongst the place and first four chances along with JACK SPRAT (7) MISTER BLINDSIDE (8) and FREIGHT SHAKER (6), all have ability and with suitable trips can’t be dismissed.

OVERVIEW: EMILY VINCENT (8) has been racing very well at metropolitan level and should trail through nicely to settle midfield. Sure to be running on strongly. TOORAM MAGIC (5) creates great interest returning from NSW and has always shown to have loads of talent. Impressive trial winner leading into this and expect a big showing. GIVE DAVE A WAVE (4) does have his share of early speed and can race handy. Runner up last start and can be in this for a long way again. LAYDEN (3) resumes here and joins the astute Kylie Sugars stable. Smart pacer when right and must be respected. ALWAYS THE SHOWMAN (7) is racing very well and in consistent form and can never be dismissed.
