TRAINER DISQUALIFIED
Racing Services Tasmania Stewards have concluded an inquiry into disqualified Trainer Leigh Barker’s attempts to sell and buy registered standardbreds on the Internet site “Trading Ring”.
Mr Barker pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 259 (1)(h) in that on 14 May 2008 he advertised HAWAIIAN DAISY for sale and on 20 May 2008 he made an offer to purchase LASER MOUNTAIN whilst being a disqualified person.
After hearing submissions on penalty, Mr Barker’s licence was disqualified for a further period of two months, with this penalty to commence at the conclusion of his current disqualification. In effect Mr Barker is now disqualified until midnight 23 October 2008.
