The Living End will headline the Young Carnival of Cups on December 1.

One of Australia’s greatest ever rock bands The Living End will headline a blockbuster Carnival of Cups entertainment package in Young.

The multi-award winning trio, who have been selling out festivals and arenas across the country for the past two decades will bring their high-energy show trackside on 1 December.

They will be supported by Oz rock Queen Sarah McLeod – best known as the front-woman of The Superjesus and 90’s luminaries Things of Stone and Wood who shot to fame with their iconic top 10 hit Happy Birthday Helen.

The good news for racegoers is it’s all free to attend! All you need to do is go online and book yourself a ticket to ensure you don’t miss out.

They are the latest landmark signings by Harness Racing New South Wales following the announcement that The Whitlams, Daryl Braithwaite and Darlinghurst will headline the Carnival of Cups series opener at Cowra on 12 November.

“What a coup to be bringing bands of this calibre to our tracks in regional towns and being able to amplify our existing racing product with a first-class entertainment offering trackside,” HRNSW Chief Executive Peter Buckman said.

“This is about Harness Racing New South Wales and our clubs broadening our footprint in regional communities, working in with local businesses and partners and providing major events on a scale that hasn’t previously been delivered which is incredibly exciting.

“The new Carnival of Cups model is a full entertainment package for everyone to come and enjoy. We can’t wait to see our race tracks full of people having a great time.”

It is expected more 5000 people will be on course for each Carnival of Cups race meeting.

A full suite of food and drink options will be available to patrons while children will be catered for with a range of free rides and entertainment options.

“These are events for everyone. They are family friendly events with something for all. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed and I’m confident we will be delivering a program people will be talking about for many years to come,” Mr Buckman said.

The entertainment program will complement a first-class race schedule, with the feature race at each Carnival of Cups meeting boosted by a lucrative incentive scheme.

The Carnival of Cups schedule starts in Cowra on 12 November and moves to Young on 1 December. Tamworth will host the third leg on 26 January before it moves to Albury on 16 February and concludes in Goulburn on 28 April.
