Charlton is the harness racing headline act today, the club hosting the finals of the Central Victorian Trotting and Pacing Championships.

Major Secret is second-up and drawn to take a power of beating in the Harness Racing Training Centre Bendigo Central Victorian Pacing Championship Final, the smart four-year-old son of Art Major/Secret Life impressing in his heat win.

From the powerful Emma Stewart stable, which is winning everything at the moment, Major Secret boasts nine wins from 18 starts and Gavin Lang is in the sulky.

The Pacers’ final will be run at 5.42pm.

The Group 3 Harness Racing Training Centre Bendigo Central Victorian Trotting Championship Final is Race 5 on the card and will see some ultra-talented squaregaiters in action.

Im Stately returned to the winners’ list last time out at Maryborough with a 2.1-metre win in the third heat of the series.

The David Jack trained four-year-old has not finished further back than second at any of his 13 starts, winning nine of them.

Four-year-old mare Daenerys Targaryen takes a three-race winning streak into the race from barrier five for Anthony Butt and Brent Lilley.

The daughter of Majestic Son/Niaemey defeated Im Stately last start by a head.

Last season’s Victoria Trotters Derby winning mare Illawong Helios was fourth first-up in her heat when forced to work for the bulk of the trip. She’s drawn gate two.

The majority of the trotting final field is in great form and an ultra-competitive race seems assured.

The trotting final will be run at 4.47pm.

Meanwhile, the fourth race of the Central Victorian Concession Drivers Championship will be run at 3.55pm.
