Rising Kiwi star Christen Me is the 2013/14 Australian Pacing Gold Grand Circuit champion.

And the Cantabrian pacer scored in a stylish manner.

The eight leg Australian Pacing Gold Grand Circuit series starts in October with the Queensland Pacing Championship before heading to Christchurch for the New Zealand Cup followed by the Miracle Mile, Victoria Cup, WA Cup, Hunter Cup, Inter Dominion before concluding with the Auckland Cup.

The Cran Dalgety trained five-year-old won the $400,000 Hunter Cup at TABCORP Park, Melton in February defeating Caribbean Blaster and The Gold Ace.

Christen Me was also a runner-up in the Miracle Mile behind Beautide at TABCORP Park, Menangle in 1;50.2 while also boasting placing’s in the New Zealand and Victoria Cups throughout the season.

Christen Me finished with a total of 260 points, 40 clear of his nearest rival – Miracle Mile & Inter Dominion hero Beautide.

During the season, Christen Me amassed more than $591,000 in prizemoney.

It continues the success of New Zealand bred pacers on the Grand Circuit with the previous five champions all hailing from the Shaky Isles.

Blacks A Fake was the last Australian bred Grand Circuit Champion back in 2009 when he shared the title with former North American pacer Mr Feelgood.

Christen Me becomes the first New Zealand trained pacer since Monkey King (2010) to be crowned the Grand Circuit champion.

The full list of Australian Pacing Gold Grand Circuit winners this season were Ideal Scott (Queensland Pacing Championship), Terror To Love (New Zealand Cup), Beautide (Miracle Mile), For A Reason (Victoria Cup), Hokunui Ben (WA Pacing Cup), Christen Me (Hunter Cup), Beautide (Inter Dominion) and Terror To Love (Auckland Cup).
