Sunraysia media identity Darren Davis was tonight honoured at the Gordon Rothacker Medal for his services to the sport of harness racing.

The Sunraysia Daily?s chief racing writer was on hand at the gala Moonee Valley dinner to receive his award for ?Outstanding Service to Harness Racing by a Media Personality?. It?s the state?s highest annual honour for the media with Davis joining Adam Hamilton (2001) and John Peck (2002) as personalities to be honoured.

Whilst a year-round supporter of harness racing in the state?s far north west, Davis is best known for his unprecedented print coverage of the Mildura Cup Carnival over a number of years. His extensive colour lift-outs, feature articles and daily news reports are a highlight of the week-long event.
