Harness Racing Australia is seeking an astute, dynamic and collaborative Chief Executive to drive the organisation forward through industry shaping strategy and innovation.
The Industry
Almost 50,000 individuals are involved in the process of producing and preparing Standardbreds for racing in Australia, creating 19,000 jobs (40% of them in regional Australia) and contributing more than $1,421 million in value added to Australia’s Gross National Product.
The industry produces over 3,300 foals annually, conducts 14,727 races per year nationally, providing $155 million in prizemoney and over $2.2B in wagering turnover.
The Opportunity
Lead the national peak body through collaboration with the Executive, Members, government and stakeholders to effectively advance the harness racing industry and safeguard its sustainability.
Key Criteria
- Proven executive leadership in complex environments with competing multi-stakeholder priorities
- Experienced in optimising collaboration and decision-making governance for effective outcomes
- Strong data, strategic and commercial acumen
- Exceptional communication and relationship management skills
- Racing industry experience preferred, but not essential
- IT and Business Management skills an advantage
