HarnessWeb - Changes to Horse Retirement option Industry Retirement Program

A recent change has been made to the options available when selecting the option of “Industry Retirement Program” from the drop down menu when retiring your Standardbred in HarnessWeb.

The retirement category labelled “Industry Retirement Program” specifically refers to retrainers/rehomers or retirement organisations recognised by State Controlling Bodies (SCB) and, once selected, will only allow you to choose from a pre-determined list of options.

If the retrainer/rehomer you are transferring your horse to is not on this list, you will need to select another option such as “Equestrian” or “Companion” from the drop down list of options.  This will then allow you to manually enter in the details of that retrainer.

Retrainers/rehomers who handle substantial volumes of horses may make application to their SCB to have their details added to this list, please contact them for further information on the necessary requirements.

Participants are reminded to be cognisant of the various Horse Status timelines covered within the industry Rules and Regulations.  These are designed to protect owners and responsible persons, as well as your horses.  Breaches can attract penalties.
