Brighton-based trainer Adrian Duggan will take five runners to the races on Friday night across both Tasmanian meetings.

The dual-code trainer will saddle up two runners at the thoroughbred meeting in Launceston, while he will also have three runners at the harness program in Hobart.

“It will be a bit tricky, but we will handle it,” said Duggan.

Concentrating on his chances on the Hobart harness card, Duggan prepares Our Miki Diva in the Shamrock Hotel Pace (2090m).

The daughter of Always Be Miki has had five starts in the state since arriving from Victoria, including a win two starts ago at Carrick Park.

“She is only a lightly framed mare, which is why we only race her lightly.

“She has been racing well since we have raced her like that, so we will stick to that strategy. We have been driving her quiet and letting her run home.

“She was good (at Carrick) and was good prior to that. She got squeezed up on the last corner and still finished off okay, although she was beaten a fair margin,” said Duggan.

The winner of three races goes into Friday’s race after finishing second in Hobart on 2 March when defeated 1.2m.

“If the tempo had been stronger early, she may have gotten over the top of them, but we won’t argue with running second.

The trainer described Friday’s second-row draw as “ideal”, acknowledging it was an even field.

Duggan’s other runners on the Hobart card are Hurricane Rock (race 2) and Imhooked (race 3).

“We will just try and hold up as good as we can and do the best that we can,” the trainer said about both runners who have good front-row draws.

All three of his runners will be driven by his son Jacob.

Friday’s card commences at 17:50 and can be seen on TasracingTV and Sky Racing 2.
