Claiming novice driver Jack Watson will be looking to end a run of outs, with several chances on the 10-race card in Hobart on Sunday night.

At the meeting, Watson has four drives (including an emergency), among them is former Victorian pacer Yorkshire, who lines up in the night’s open class race, the Young Group Pace (2090m).

After rejoining the Juanita McKenzie stable, Watson couldn’t drive the pacer in two of his three starts.

“I couldn’t drive him in some of the bigger races, but I’m looking forward to driving him on Sunday.

“I just tried to give him some confidence when I drove him two starts ago after he got cleaned up in the Golden Mile, “said Watson.

Only eight runners will contest Sunday’s race, where Watson expects the pacer to produce a forward showing.

“I expect him to run a big race on Sunday.

“He is pretty versatile.

“I can go forward, or I can go back and come with one run. It doesn’t really matter too much.

“Rackemup Tigerpie looks the one to beat, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Cool Water Paddy runs a good race,” Watson said.

Yorkshire has had four starts in Hobart for two wins and a second placing.

Of his remaining drives, Watson rates Shaun To The Max in the final race as one of his better chances.

“I was rapt with his run last week,” said Watson about the pacer’s third placing when second-up from a spell.

“He hasn’t got much gate speed, but if we can lob handy and get going a little bit earlier than last time, I expect him to be in the finish,” the driver added.

Sunday’s 10-race card will be live-streamed on TasracingTV, and at the time of writing, race one will be shown on Sky Racing 2, with the remainder of the card to be televised on Sky Racing 1.
