Stellar lots in Sunday's Southern Stars Sale

The 2023 Southern Stars Yearling Sale will be held at the Gawler Barossa Jockey Club Complex, Evanston on Sunday, starting at 1pm.

The sale has attracted 23 lots by 14 different sires including Sportswriter, Betting Line, A Rocknroll Dance, Vincent, Heston Blue Chip, Rock N Roll World, Ultimate Machete, Yankee Rockstar, Lennythshark and Major Secret.

The sale will showcase the first Australian crop of exciting, young sires in Stay Hungry, Lather Up, Soho Tribeca and Poster Boy.

There’s siblings to a host of feature race and metropolitan winners including Jamaican Rock, Jumping Jolt, Rupert Ross, Soho Thunderstruck, Honeybun, Licinia, Jilliby Shania and Star Man.

All yearlings are eligible for the $50,000 Southern Stars Yearling Sale Race to be conducted at Globe Derby Park no later than June 30, 2024.

A $20,000 bonus will be paid to the owner of the first filly past the post, a $2,000 bonus to the winning breeder and a $2,000 bonus to the breeder of the first filly past the post.

A Sale information night will be held in the Committee Room at Globe Derby Park on Saturday night with bidding forms and catalogues available.

The yearling parade will be livestreamed on the SA BOTRA Harness Facebook from 12 noon.
