THERE have been some outstanding performances on track so far during the Bathurst Gold Crown Carnival - both equine and human.

But it was the drivers off the track that caught the most attention at Bathurst last Monday.

The Bathurst Harness Racing Club held the inaugural All Abilities Day as part of the carnival and drivers took the time to meet and greet clients according to Casey Williams who is part of the Club’s Social Committee.

“We want to acknowledge some of the incredible drivers we have in our sport,” said Williams.
“As part of the first All Abilities Day, clients were able to witness and cheer home a crowd favourite in Better Be The Best taking out the first race and a heat of the Gold Chalice. “Drivers took time out of their busy schedules handing out signed merchandise and having photos with the clients too.

“There were also prizes handed out to best dressed on the day.

“All clients enjoyed their day and we hope to see them back again next year.

“We want to take this opportunity to thank all the drivers for their time.

“Such a small gesture has had a massive impact in these beautiful peoples lives.”
