Stewards today continued their inquiry into the driving of WOODLANDS BOY (Clint Petroff) in Race 6, the Queensland Interstate Horse Transport Pace at the Gold Coast on Thursday, 17 July 2008.

Further evidence was taken from Driver Clint Petroff, and Mr Darrell Graham, Trainer of WOODLANDS BOY.

Driver Clint Petroff was found guilty of a charge under Rule 147(1).

The particulars were as follows;

1. That as the driver of WOODLANDS BOY had, near the 800m, when racing three wide directly behind WESTBURN RUBY, failed to maintain that position, which then allowed DISCO SUPERFLY, a stablemate driven by Mr Chris Petroff to shift out to the position behind WESTBURN RUBY which he had occupied, and vacated.

2. That as the driver of WOODLANDS BOY had, over the concluding stages failed to drive with sufficient vigour.

Driver Clint Petroff was disqualified for a period of 12 months.

In accordance with Rule 150 (1), Driver Clint Petroff was further charged and found guilty under Rule 149(1).

Driver Clint Petroff’s licence was suspended for a period of 6 months.

Driver Clint Petroff was advised of his rights of appeal.
