The best trotting genetics from across the globe will greet buyers at the 2026 Australian Pacing Gold Queensland Yearling Sale to be held at Ipswich Turf Club on Sunday, February 8.

The sale features the progeny of Father Patrick, a Top Ten sire in North America, Australia and New Zealand, Europe’s first 1:50 miler Propulsion, the multiple world record holder Sebastian K and the Canadian 2YO Trotting Colt of the Year On A Streak.

Father Patrick, the leading sire of two and three-year-olds in NZ, is represented by two fillies – both from Margaret Donohoe’s Monarch Farm, Mount Forbes.

Lot 20 is the second foal of the young Muscle Hill mare Shez All Muscle, a member of the line that produced trotters the calibre of the NZ 4YO Trotting Mare of the Year Zola’s Pride, The Beau Brummell (WA Trotters Cup), the Group 3 winner Hot To Trot and the recent WA Trotters’ Sprint victor Majestic Ga Ga.

The other filly, Lot 41, is a half-sister to last month’s Melton winner Freight Shaker (1:57.1), the winner of six races to date, and Ataboy Charlie (4 wins), being out of the Muscles Yankee mare Graciella Pinevale, a half-sister to eight winners headed up by the multiple Group placegetter Duchess Ella, who, in turn, left the NZ Young Guns Series winner We Can Have It All.

The third of the Monarch Farm trotting draft is Lot 39, a colt by the freakish trotter Propulsion and the only colt by the Muscle Hill horse being offered for sale in this country.

A first foal, he’s a grandson of the Victoria Trotters Oaks winner and 3YO Trotting Filly of the Year Adhesive, a half-sister to a champion racemare in Zesta, who, at one stage won 12 races on end including the Victoria Trotters Derby and Oaks and the Breeders Crown.

Lot 44, one of the Trump Bloodstock consignment, is a Sebastian K filly from the Love You mare Feona Joy NZ, dam of the Springboard Series winner Razzleme Dazzleme and the QBred Triad placegetter Singara Ted.

The filly belongs to the same family as the Inter Dominion champion and NZ Hall of Fame trotter Buster Hanover, the Anzac Cup winner Lemond and Il Pirata (QLD Trotters Cup).

The first of the trotting brigade to pass through the ring is Lot 6, a striking bay colt by the Cantab Hall horse On A Streak being offered by Pittsworth couple Lindsay and Mary Vagg.

He’s out of The Redwood winner Maidstone Miss NZ, a Sundon mare from the ‘Hest’ tribe who figures as the dam of Thebestbourbon, a winner of 17 races and fourth in the 2023 Inter Dominion Grand Final, and the Group 1 Victorian winner Used To Be A Maid.

Trotters entered in the Queensland sale are eligible for the $40,000 Australian Pacing Gold mixed sex race for two-year-olds in 2027 and the $30,000 mixed sex race for three-year-olds in 2028.

They are also eligible for the rich QBred series for two, three and four-year-olds and a swag of age classics.
