The refurbishment of Albion Park, the building of a new training centre at Marburg, harness racing returning to Toowoomba and a strong opportunity to compete in a rich race series are huge incentives for buyers coming to the Australian Pacing Gold Ipswich Yearling Sale to be held on Sunday, February 8.

A total of 22 pacing colts and 17 fillies will go under the hammer and with separate $100,000 races for two-year-old colts and geldings and fillies and $50,000 events for three-year-olds of both sexes, the chance to pick up the top prize is greater than any other sale in the country.

The deep, well balanced catalogue also offers a quality contingent of trotters eligible for a $40,000 mixed sex classic for two-year-olds and a $30,000 mixed sex race for three-year-olds.

Besides the APG sales-race series, all yearlings are eligible for the lucrative QBred futurity scheme with big prizemoney and bonuses for two, three and four-year-old pacers and trotters and an array of age classics.

The catalogue comprises the progeny of many of the world’s leading sires as well as some standouts from the leading maternal families in Australia and New Zealand.

Vendors will participate for a range of prizes sponsored by International Animal Health Products, Hygain and Garrard’s Horse & Hound including major awards for sale toppers and the best presented colt and filly and ‘little extras’ for buyers on sale day.

“The Ipswich sale is known for its welcoming atmosphere, strong buyer engagement and quality outcomes,” Wanda Duggan, from APG Marketing and Sponsorships, said.

“It’s not just a sale – it’s a showcase of Queensland harness racing, backed by industry leaders and genuine sponsors.

“We wish to thank Racing Queensland, who have backed the APG platform in 2026 with support for breeders, preparers, owners and the broader Queensland harness racing community and the Ipswich Turf Club, who continue to go above and beyond as our host venue.”

The sale parade kicks off proceedings at 10am, followed by buyer’s inspections from 11am. The sale will commence at 2pm. Don’t forget to Register as a Buyer today to avoid the sale day rush.
