Abbey Turnbull is a familiar and friendly face in harness racing, balancing her role as Social Media Manager at the Shepparton Harness Racing Club with life in the sulky.

On Shepparton Gold Cup night, she’ll be busy both on and off the track, going behind the scenes on the club’s social channels while also lining up in the feature event aboard Western Sonador for trainer Stephen O’Donoghue.

Abbey also has two other drives on the program for her father Craig, partnering Ricky Rocks and Intrusion.

Bronte Nieuwenburg caught up with Abbey ahead of the big night to chat about her journey in harness racing and what makes Shepparton Gold Cup night such a special occasion.
