It was a big weekend for Tasmania’s leading trainer Wayne Yole.

Yole tasted success with Soho Tuxedo ($6.50) in the Golden Slipper in Launceston on Saturday night, before training four winners in Hobart on Sunday evening.

Soho Tuxedo, a two-year-old gelded son of Soho Tribeca, claimed his second career win at his 16th start, to go along with his eight minor placings to his credit.

Driven by Liam Older, Soho Tuxedo was positioned three back the pylons by driver Liam Older after being restrained from a wide front-row draw.

Older was able to angle into clear racing room turning in to the final straight, where the gelding let down well to record a 2.1m win from Rocky Stride ($9) and Ozzie Pearl ($1.95 fav) in a mile rate of 1:58.7s.

“He is a nice horse, that hasn’t had a lot of luck. We changed some gear on him, and it has paid off,” said Yole.

“Liam Older is driving very well. Since he has come back from Victoria, he is just getting better and better. He drives for luck a lot of times, and 99% of the time it pays off.

Yole’s four Hobart winners included Fleetwood Rock ($16), who claimed a national rating 55 to 60 (1609m) event with Ricky Duggan in the sulky.

“It was a super night. I didn’t expect to get four winners, but I was expecting a few of them to be competitive, and luck went our way.

“I thought Fleetwood Rock would go well. I told Ricky that if they started to walk to get up there, as he is a tough horse, and that’s how it panned out.”

Rock On Playboy ($2.90) took out the Typeface Pace (2090m), a 55 or better standing start event.

“He has good manners and had a good draw, plus Mark (Yole) knows the horse well,” said the trainer.

Wayne’s other winners were both driven by Mark, including Smooth Deal ($11) and Gobsmacked ($6).
