Egerton-Green repeats the dose

Serpentine trainer-reinsman Dylan Egerton-Green has discovered an unusual winning formula with some of his pacers --- letting them relax at the rear before setting them alight and charging home from last at the bell to score impressive victories.

Last Friday week he excited the fans when he came from last at the bell with $4.80 chance Nase Vira to score a very easy win, and he repeated the dose at Gloucester Park on Friday night when he brought $3.30 chance Rebline from last with just over a lap to travel to win narrowly from $2.40 favourite Her Presence in the $21,000 Kevin Dinnigan Member Since 1993 Pace.

“I wish it was that easy, but it worked out well for Rebline tonight,” said Egerton-Green after the six-year-old mare followed the three-wide run of Brulee in the final circuit to get to the front with 30m to travel and win by a head.

This gave the Queensland-bred Rebline a record of 73 starts for eleven wins, 20 placings and $105,038 in prizemoney. She won at three of her 15 Queensland starts, and her 58 WA starts have produced eight wins and 17 placings.

She is by American sire Betting Line and is the sixth foal out of Artiscape mare Rebby, a smart performer who had 60 starts for 13 wins, nine placings and $84,436.

Rebby has also produced American winners Firebby (121 starts for 29 wins, 40 placings and $314,480) and Mister Rebbily (163 starts for 29 wins, 46 placings and $185,262).

Wealthy Broomehill farmer Gerard Paganoni races Rebline in partnership with his son Callum and nephew Damien Nazzari, with Dylan Egerton-Green saying: “Gerard is in Italy sipping cocktails by the pool and undoubtedly enjoying getting some city cash.”
