Harness Racing New South Wales (HRNSW) Stewards, acting under the provisions of Australian Harness Racing Rule 183 (a), (b), (c) & (d), have today suspended the Trainer and Driver’s licences of Mr David Moran after receiving advice from the Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory (ARFL) that Total Plasma Carbon Dioxide above the prescribed threshold had been detected in the pre-race blood sample taken from CAPTAIN HAMMERHEAD prior to it running in race 6, the BOOTS CIVIL | MILBRAE QUARRIES RIVERINA CHAMPIONSHIPS ENTIRES AND GELDINGS FINAL (LISTED CLASSIC) (2270 metres) conducted at Wagga on Saturday 19 April 2025.
HRNSW Stewards considered all available information, together with a submission on behalf of Mr Moran in which it was requested by him to be stood down immediately, prior to the imposition of Australian Harness Racing Rule (AHRR) 183.
Mr Moran was informed of his right to appeal this decision.
A date for the Inquiry has not been scheduled at this time.
