Trainer Stood Down – Mr Ben Swan

On Friday 28 March 2025 Harness Racing New South Wales (HRNSW) Stewards, acting under the provisions of Australian Harness Racing Rule 183 (a), (b), (c) & (d), suspended the Trainer and Driver licences of Mr Ben Swan after receiving advice from the Australian Government National Measurement Institute (NMI) that Cobalt above the threshold of 100 micrograms per litre in urine was detected in the urine sample taken from OUR GEORGE BOSTON following its win in race 1, the COCA COLA EURO PACIFIC PACE (2030 metres) conducted at Temora on Tuesday 7 January 2025..

The reserve portion and control solution were confirmed by the ChemCentre in Western Australia.

HRNSW Stewards considered all available information, including submissions on behalf of Mr Swan, prior to the imposition of Australian Harness Racing Rule (AHRR) 183.

Mr Swan was informed of his right to appeal this decision.

A date for the Inquiry has not been scheduled at this time.
