The official Fantasy Harness Racing podcast has returned today as part of a national partnership with sports radio empire SEN.

Through the agreement, a weekly Fantasy Harness Racing show will be broadcast live nationally across the SEN Network every Wednesday and then uploaded to the official podcast platform. It is available live through the SEN app.

The first episode was broadcast nationally from the SEN Melbourne studios at midday today, hosted by Harness Racing Australia’s Head of Racing and Strategy Toby McKinnon and Harness Racing New South Wales Media Manager Amanda Rando.

Each week a fleet of guests will feature on the show. Today’s first episode included Season 1 winner Will Norman with his thoughts on the new strategic approach and tips on how to build a squad.

This year Fantasy Harness Racing has gone national with all states represented for the first time.

Points will start being counted on Thursday, 30 January, with the first round to be locked out just prior to the first race at Redcliffe on that day. Lockout will be scheduled for 2pm (AEDT). That’s 1pm in Queensland, 1:30pm in South Australia and 11am in Western Australia.

Harness Racing Australia Chief Executive Andrew Kelly lauded the new partnership with SEN, developed as an extension of the Sports Entertainment Network’s current agreement with Harness Racing New South Wales.

“When HRA and the states combined to go national with Fantasy Harness Racing this season it was primarily driven by the ability for the game to create broader conversations around our industry and the sport itself,” Mr Kely said.

“To be able to partner on that strategy though the existing relationship with Harness Racing New South Wales means we now have a far-reaching and easily accessible national platform for discussion and analysis of our racing product, so it really is a perfect fit.”

The weekly Fantasy Harness Racing podcast – recorded in conjunction with SEN – will be supported by a range of other programs on the official podcast platform.

There are 135 prizes up for grabs in this year’s game, including a $10,000 cash first prize and VIP holidays and hospitality experiences at the TAB Eureka.
