A BRAVE second-placing to champion pacer Leap To Fame has seen evergreen star Max Delight climb the latest Inter Dominion rankings.

Max Delight ran home the fastest last 400m when finishing runner up in last Saturday night’s ‘Golden Ticket’ feature The Battle Of Beersheba at Menangle.

This effort has seen Max Delight move up from ranking eight to six in the third round of ID24 rankings for the pacers released by Harness Racing New South Wales today.

Max Delight has raced in two Inter Dominion Championships, and in the 2021 edition last held at Menangle, finishing fourth in the Grand Final to Boncel Benjamin.

Other major changes amongst the pacers rankings in this round include the scratching of the Andy Gath-trained horses Catch A Wave, Tango Tara and Yambukian.

Gath has also scratched Callmethebreeze out of the ID24 Trotting Championship with a potential trip to New Zealand earmarked for the star trotter.

The major mover amongst the trotters in the third round of rankings is the Victorian Aldebaran Zeus who moved from ranking 11 to five after winning the Tony and Jill McGrath Free-For-All at Menangle last Saturday night.

Group 1-winning trotter Plymouth Chubb, who is currently ranked in nine, will be looking for bonus points at Melton this Saturday night has he faces the starter for the first time since January.

The fourth and final round of Inter Dominion rankings for the 2024 series will be released on November 20.

The top 36 pacers will qualify for the Inter Dominion Pacing Championship while the top 24 trotters will be accepted for the Inter Dominion Trotting Championship.

While ID24 will be held across three different tracks – Bathurst, Newcastle, Menangle -all heats will have 12 starters with a starting configuration of eight horses off the front and four horses on the second row.
