On 1 February 2024, HRNSW implemented concussion protocols and procedures to provide additional protection to licensed Drivers, Trainers and Driving Stablehands.

HRNSW reminds all Drivers that they are required to undertake an annual cognitive test as part of the licence renewal process. To date there are a number of Drivers who have not undertaken their annual cognitive test for the current 2024 season.

In addition, Trainers and Driving Stablehands are also required to undertake a baseline cognitive test in addition to an annual cognitive test as part of their licence requirements.

Once a baseline cognitive test has been completed, the annual cognitive test can be undertaken remotely making it more convenient for licensed participants to complete.

To organise an annual cognitive test or a baseline cognitive test, Drivers, Trainers and Driving Stablehands should email cognitivetesting@hrnsw.com.au or contact HRNSW Education and Welfare Manager Mr Maurice Logue on 9722 6623.
