Like many in the Harness Racing community, HRA has been upset and touched by the shock cancer diagnosis of New Zealand trainer-driver Katie Cox.

Cox, a young mother who has aggressive lung cancer, urgently requires costly treatment, and the harness racing industry is rallying around her.

HRA has added its support to an appeal set up in New Zealand to raise funds for Cox's treatment by providing a Trust Account option for Australian-domiciled persons wishing to donate. It will be free of bank transfer fees, ensuring the maximum funds are raised and passed on to Cox and her family.

The account details are:

Name: Harness Racing Australia Events
BSB: 633 000
Acct: 203 352 950

Numerous donations have already been made from Australia through this account. While all contributions are hugely valuable, a sizable donation by Dean Shannon and the Entain Group highlights how Cox's story has hit home for so many.

HRA will also donate a TAB Eureka dining package for auction at a special fundraising event at Addington Raceway on Melbourne Cup Day (November 7), where all proceeds will go to the appeal. Auction Details
