Cordina Chicken Farms Chariots of Fire

Club Menangle is pleased to confirm a significant increase in prize money offered for one of our pinnacle races in 2022, the Cordina Chicken Farms Chariots of Fire.

The 2022 edition, which will be run on Saturday 19 February, will see an increase of $50,000 from the previous year's race, with $250,000 now on offer for the best four-year-old pacers to contest.

Club Menangle GM of Racing, David Wonson, said, "The Chariots of Fire has always attracted the most exciting four-year-old Pacers in the Southern Hemisphere.

With a quarter of a million dollars in prize money now on offer, this race will no doubt be one of the most exciting events throughout the Sky Racing Carnival of Miracles."

Pryde's Easifeed Queen Elizabeth II Mile

The Federal Government, has announced Australia will participate in celebrating the Platinum Jubilee of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.

The Board of Club Menangle considered how the club could participate in the Platinum Jubilee at the local level acknowledging Her Majesty's role in Australia for seventy years as monarch and head of the armed services.

Club Menangle Chairman Mr Robert Marshall said, "I think that all Australians, regardless of their ideology, would acknowledge this extraordinary woman's dedication to her very public life over an inconceivable period of time.

Club Menangle is proud to join with our brothers and sisters all around the Commonwealth in marking this historic milestone."

Accordingly, as part of Club Menangle's participation in the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, the Ladyship Mile, the State's premier race for mares, will be renamed the Queen Elizabeth II Mile for 2022.

The Pryde’s Easifeed Queen Elizabeth II Mile will take place as the crowning event on Schweppes Ladies Night, Saturday 26 February 2022.
