INTER DOMINION RECOGNITION AWARDS

 

Robert Marshall, Chairman, advised that the Inter Dominion Harness Racing Council in its recent Mid Season General Meeting in Hobart had after extensive consultation reviewed its Recognition Awards for future recipients.

Council has reinforced The Ern Manea Gold Medal as its singular highest Award for an Industry Participant who had achieved a Significant Long Term contribution to Australia/New Zealand Harness Racing Affairs, or Significant Long Term Contribution to the Inter Dominion Pacing and Trotting Championships.

In future, Council decided that the IDHRC Distinguished Service Award will be named as follows in recognition of their Inter Dominion Championship achievements: 

  •  

The Brian Hancock Distinguished Service Award for Australian Industry Participants.

 

  •  

The Butt Family Distinguished Service Award for New Zealand Industry Participants.

 

  •  

The Our Sir Vancelot NZ Distinguished Service Award for all Standardbreds.

In addition, Council will also from time to time provide Special Recognition Awards.

Finally, Council has decided to develop an internet Virtual Hall of Fame for the Inter Dominions on its website to commemorate the memories of past and future Series.
