Following consultation with the Marburg Pacing Association prizemoney at future Marburg TAB race meetings have been raised from $2,000 to $2,300, effective immediately.
The new prizemoney allocations are:
- 1st $1,320
- 2nd $399
- 3rd $219
- 4th $152
- 5th $110
- 6th to last $25
As the prizemoney has been raised above the $2,000 threshold all winners will now take a Graduation (R) Penalty for a win.
The Marburg Pacing Association is pleased with this increase – representing a greater return in prizemoney to participants.
Marburg President Scott Neaves has noted “the committee have been concerned for some time that the previous penalty free status of the races may have resulted in an unfair opportunity for some horses to win multiple divisions of a single class race, and hence the restricted penalty racing will ensure prizemoney is better distributed.”
The next scheduled race meeting at Marburg is a TAB meeting on Sunday March 3 from which this prizemoney increase takes effect.
For the March 3 program, winning horses will now take a Graduation (R) Penalty for a win rather than the Non-Penalty previously advertised.
