The TAB.com.au Redwood Rattler is on track to deliver another monster day of trotting fun, with tickets on sale to courier racegoers to the beloved Maryborough meeting.

The 15th Redwood All Trotting Carnival on August 6, which features two Group 1 events, has evolved into a must-see race day and only became bigger and better with the introduction of last year’s Redwood Rattler, a train service from Southern Cross to Maryborough via Melton, Bacchus Marsh and Ballarat.

Maryborough Harness Racing Club president Peter Egan said those who got aboard last year’s first Redwood Rattler “had a fantastic day”.

“The success we had last year with the Redwood Rattler saw a substantial increase in patronage and helped make for a fantastic time on-course,” Mr Egan said.

The train trip has only further fuelled the great all-trotting carnival, which features the Seelite Windows and Doors sponsored features the Victoria Trotters Derby and Redwood Classic.

“It’s our major meeting for the year,” Mr Egan said. “It’s all trotting, but it’s not just about the big stakemoney, it’s also about the prestige. People now recognise Maryborough for Redwood day. Drivers and trainers tell us that winning a race on Redwood day means a lot.”

Adam Hamilton, TAB Head of Media, Communications and Talent, said the organisation was thrilled to support “such a new and different initiative and continue its long-term support of Victorian trots”.

“The Redwood day is a cornerstone of the Victorian industry and what a great way to take in the day by top and tailing it with a ride on the TAB.com.au Redwood Rattler,” Mr Hamilton said.

For just $85 a ticket on the TAB.com.au Redwood Rattler gifts you a return trip, a bus ride from Maryborough station to Carisbrook Raceway, track admission, a racebook, souvenir cap, two-course lunch, beer, wine or soft drink on arrival, a $20 TAB voucher and a $20 punters club ticket.
