The Kiwis look like taking this event out with Redwood winner High Gait drawing the pole. She will be likely to get trailed by Jewels victor Missandei from inside the second line – that pair appear the two main quinella hopes.
Lightly raced Angus Hall filly Smile Smile Smile makes her fourth race appearance and is sure to give a sight for David Abrahams, with Nathan Jack in the sulky.
Sydneysider Blake Fitzpatrick’s very much in-form Love You youngster Parisian Chic had no luck in the draw coming from outside the front line.

Victoria Trotting Derby winner Speeding Spur is no moral after drawing gate three on the second line much to the dismay of trainer John Dickie.
However, he will come out behind a very fast beginner in Fabrication.
Jodi Quinlan’s impressive Illawong Armstrong, who at times can become very headstrong, is likely to go forward from gate five in search of the lead and is likely to get there without spending too much petrol.
Ever-reliable Valley Ess Jay will need plenty of luck from gate two on the second line to figure in the finish.

The exciting Nicole Molander-trained Reina Danzante looks like spearing to the front from gate four with Chris Alford in the sulky and will take no end of catching.
Thre are lots of blowout chances however, with the promising Aldebaran Deebee despite the extreme draw, My Arya (inside the second line), which was outstanding earlier in the season, Glenferrie Burn, Fiery Mountain Girl and Zaire Diva all great trifecta hopes.

The most elated person at the barrier draw was Pam Hockham, part-owner of Shadow Sax after she pulled out the prime pole position.
However, red-hot favourite Our Waikiki Beach from the All Stars stable of Mark Purdon appears likely to retain his unbeaten sequence after coming from outside the front line.
Born To Rocknroll (gate four), Zee Dana (gate eight) and I Will Rock You (10) are all in with a chance should luck go their way.

Boom Kiwi The Orange Agent could be tested from gate three on the second line, with Ballarat semi-final victor Ameretto drawing the pole for Ashlee Siejka.
Barry Purdon’s Start Dreaming, Katy Perry, Starburst Girl and the Soho’s Berlin and Tokyo can place along with WA hope Lady Willoughby who is to follow Ameretto.

This will be undoubtedly be the race of the day, with a repeat clash between giant killer Menin Gate from Larry Eastman’s Shelbourne (Bendigo) stable against the All Stars hope Follow The Stars.
Who will lead is anyone’s guess with Follow The Stars handing up to Menin Gate in their Semi, however from gate four it would be no surprise should Mark Purdon decide to reverse the role with Menin Gate drawing outside him.
If a war became apparent there are plenty of other winning chances including Egodan, who should receive a lovely trip from the pole, Mister Lennox (gate two), Hes Lightfingered (three), My Kiwi Mate (six) and to a lesser extent Sluggem, which will start from the extreme draw.
Two-Year-Old Fillies
Another of the Purdon/Rasmussen fancies Our Dream About Me will be a short priced favourite even though she has to start from gate five on the second line.
Hot Shot Woman, who was responsible for a giant effort when second to Queenslander Get In The Groove in her Semi after racing parked will be hard to hold out despite coming from gate five.
Sprinter Dancingwithsierra can be dangerous so far as placings are concerned. Soho Madelaine can also be in the money from gate three, while Heavens Trend has to be taken on trust after a disappointing Ballarat performance.
