A feature of the 2015 Pryde’s EasiFeed Australasian Premier Trotting Sale, to be held at Tabcorp Park Melton on Sunday, March 8, is the high percentage of race-winning or winner-producing mares with progeny in the sale.

Of the 46 lots in the catalogue, 23 are out of race-winning mares and 18 are from winner producers.

The impressive list is headed up by the Oaks winners Maori’s Dream (Vic) and Queen’s Rhapsody (NSW), The Redwood winner Elusive Charm, the multiple Group 1 placegetters Flaming Action and Countessa Hest, the NZ Jewels runner-up Gladys Emanuel and the Breeders Crown placegetter Aldebaran Maori.

Other metropolitan winning mares with yearlings are Arnika’s Pride, Aldebaranfavourite, Speedy Naomi, Im Mumbo Jumbo, Aldebaran Breeze, A Poem Kept, Strapon and Calder Fury,

The catalogue includes yearlings that are siblings to Group or Listed winners including the likes of top trotters such as Claudy’s Princess, Calder Sensation, Queen’s Vacation, Verbier, Val Gardena and Aldebaran Maori.

Other dams are sisters to Sumthingaboutmaori, Galleon’s Assassin, Sunny Elegant, Maori’s Crown, Calder Sensation, Our Dreamlover, King Charlie, Andy’s Favourite, Maidstone Miss, Goldstar Invasion, Poet’s Corner and Let’s Get Serious.

The sale feature yearlings by 17 different stallions including a trio of champion American sires in Muscles Yankee, Muscle Hill and Angus Hall and NZ siring sensation Sundon.

The Australasian Premier Trotting Sale is an integral part of a monster weekend for lovers of the straightout trotter featuring the Group 1 $300,000 Pryde’s EasiFeed Great Southern Star, the Group 2 $30,275 Lyn McPherson Memorial Breed For Speed Gold Series Final and the inaugural Need For Speed 3YO Classic (colts and fillies).

The inaugural sale in 2013 has already produced 12 individual winners and four placegetters from 19 starters. They are headed up by the brilliant filly Endsino, winner of heat and final of the Vicbred 2YO series and a heat of the Breeders Crown. Graduates of the inaugural sale have so far earned $215,639 in stakes.

Other winners include the highly promising Livin The Life (3 wins), Gus An Maori (2 wins), the Breeders Crown heat winners Shared Interest (2nd in Final) and Naked Majesty, the Breeders Crown runner-up Meadow Valley Road and recent Melton winner Hush Your Majesty.
