Horses are coming from as far afield as New Zealand and interstate for the third annual 2YO Trialling Sale at Tabcorp Park, Menangle.
Despite this, the locals are not to be denied, with a strong home State representation for the Garrards Horse & Hound-sponsored trials then sale on Sunday, December 8 - the day after the Treuer Memorial.
Trials start at 8.30am, with the auction of the 50 catalogued lots at the end of the trials, perhaps 1pm, with a complimentary breakfast at 7.30am.
Local trainer Rickie Alchin, who has been represented at both previous Trialling Sales, is up for it again, with the biggest draft from New South Wales.

Riverina horseman Steve Harris, no stranger to a good horse, particularly a young one, has a Sportswriter first foal colt from Stylish Storm and a colt by his Christian Cullen sire, Quick Approval
(1:57.1) from Bootylicious (1:58.1), already the dam of Majorlicious
(1:54.9) and Blissfulicious (12 wins; $48,025).
Laurence Dawson, from a stout harness racing clan, particularly of breakers and educators, has high hopes for his Dawn Ofa New Day colt from a lightly-raced, placed half-sister to Village Of Dreams
($300,342) and Terrific Son (1:57.6) as well as his Live Or Die half- brother to Ben Junior (1:56.3; $128,519) and Hope Riley (1:56.7).
The late Clem Smith, of Cobargo, was arguably the greatest young horse preparer in the history of NSW, and his son, Ken, who conducts Mimosa Banks Stud at Young, has just the one lot, a standout, the only uncut son of Somebeachsomewhere in the sale, the first foal of the multiple winner, More Sassie Lombo (2:00.1).
