Whispering Gypsy wins Ponies Miracle Mile
EVEN the youngsters get a piece of the action at the SEW Eurodrive Miracle Mile and three “mini” Miracles had the big crowd cheering between races.
That’s because the Midgets, Shetlands and Ponies all had mini Miracle Miles of their own on Sunday at Tabcorp Park Menangle as well.
And for most of these budding harness racing drivers, it was their first look at a mobile barrier from the “other” side and some of their horses did struggle to handle the pressure of such a big day.
Dubbo’s Sarah Marsh set the scene for a big day for the “littlies” when she won the Midget’s Miracle Mile with the races run down the length of the Menangle straight.
Then Queensland visitor Twebby Twotter took out the Shetlands Miracle Mile.
And in his last official drive in the mini trots, Riverina reinsman Chris Judd took out the Ponies Miracle Mile with Whispering Gypsy.
Chris now graduates to the “big time” and is hoping to make his mark as a reinsman against the “big boys”.
