The Racing Appeals Tribunal NSW yesterday handed down its decision in relation to the appeal by Trainer Mr Peter Morris SNR against a fourteen (14) month disqualification for a breach of Australian Harness Racing Rule 190 (1), (2) and (4).
The Tribunal made the following orders:
(1) Application to withdraw his appeal was refused.
(2) Appeal dismissed.
(3) Mr Peter Morris senior is disqualified for a period of eighteen (18) months commencing 19 October 2011.
(4) Under AHRR 195 the Tribunal confirms the decision of the Stewards to disqualify the horse THIS BOY from Race 7 at Menangle on 27 September 2011.
(5) The Appellant is to pay costs to Harness Racing in the sum of $8,000.
(6) The appeal deposit is forfeited.
