A star studded field has today been announced for the $70,000 Kilmore Ssangyong Pacing Cup which will be conducted for the 43rd time this Sunday afternoon at Kilmore.

A quintet of elite pacers share the 10-metre backmark in the 3150-metre marathon including evergreen champion Sokyola (pictured) who will line up in his fifth cup after finishing second (2004), third (2003), fourth (2001) and seventh (2002) at his previous attempts.

Standing alongside him will be South Australian Cup winner The Warp Drive, Hankook Tyres Hunter Cup runner-up Tromos, Inter Dominion consolation winner Sting Lika Bee and Scruffy Murphy – the lone horse returning from last year’s edition of the great race.

Sting Lika Bee, a brilliant winner of the Moonee Valley 30th Anniversary Free For All last Friday night, is tipped to start favourite in an opening betting race despite his handicap.

The presence of 2005 Western Australian Derby winner Richard Henry, a noted standing start specialist and a winner of his past six starts, together with in-form New South Wales raider The Phantoms Guest, adds plenty of intrigue to the Group 2 event.

The spotlight will also be on the Kerryn Manning-trained Strauss who is chasing some lucrative bonuses after winning the Nyah Cup last weekend, whilst the hopes of a hometown victory rest with the Tracy Moule-trained pair Reba Rajah and Toe Taper.

The field for the $70,000 Kilmore Ssangyong Pacing Cup, a discretionary handicap over 3150-metres to be run at 3.45pm (AET) on October 29, is;
