PROMISING pacer Live For Peace is expected to be a major improver at Globe Derby on Saturday night.

Although he was successful by a head at the same venue last weekend, the son of Santanna Blue Chip suffered a “setback” before his run according to trainer Ryan Hryhorec.

With the benefit of the outing and extra track work Live For Peace is tipped to strip fitter for his pending assignment.

Two starts ago the four-year-old scored by 46 metres!

“I had a setback with him, so he went into last weekend a bit underdone,” Hryhorec said. “He’s going well and I expect him to be better again in this and improve further for the Final.

“Other than looking to get him into the Final I haven’t got any set plans for him, but he should win a few more before he reaches his mark.”

Hoping to extract Live For Peace away from his inside of the second row draw early in the heat, Hryhorec believes Marty Major and Arm A Princess pose the biggest threats.

Both are racing in consistent form, with Arm A Princess drawn barrier two and Marty Major to come from gate three.

“Those two are racing well and should settle in good positions early,” Hryhorec said. “I’m confident I’ve got the right horse to win, but they’ll be the hardest to beat.”
