AWARDED TO
ANTHONY ABELL
RANGIORA, NEW ZEALAND

The Inter Dominion Harness Racing Council at its Mid Season Meeting held in Auckland, New Zealand has awarded its highest honour to Anthony (Tony) Abell of Rangiora in New Zealand.

In announcing this prestigious recognition, IDHRC Chairman, Robert Marshall spoke of Tony Abell’s contribution and achievement to the activities of the Inter Dominion Harness Racing Council in a variety of roles.

Tony Abell has served Council extensively as Chairman/President for the period between 2000 until 2004 and as an accredited representative for the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club.

He has also served the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club over a significant period in the past in Committee and Executive roles of the Club having been appointed to the Committee in 1979 and progressing through to be elected President (1994-1998) and Director (2000-2004).
