French punters will again bet on Victorian trots races at Bendigo on Wednesday night.

Harness Racing Victoria (HRV), Sky Racing and the French totalizer, PMU, have an agreement in place for France to broadcast up to five Victorian races on selected programs throughout the year.

Since its introduction in season 2015/16, over 100 Victorian trots races have been beamed into France, which has generated turnover of over $20m via the PMU.

The Victorian industry derives important revenue from the French agreement at no cost to Victoria.

HRV General Manager of Marketing & Wagering Ryan Stanaway explained the revenue gained from the French arrangement was important for the Victorian industry.

“It’s a win for Victoria because the French have made it clear they have a healthy appetite for our trots racing,” Mr Stanaway said.

“We are always grateful to our participants for supporting these races as it generates important incremental revenue for the industry”

Other meetings in July to beam into France are Melton on July 19 and 28 and Ballarat on July 26, with a strong schedule of Monday night meetings at Tabcorp Park Melton to follow in season 2017/18.
